So where have I been you ask, well, I'm here but tired.
We decided spring time (or all most spring at any rate) was a great time to finally put in that hardwood floor and paint...the entire house and redo the molding and, and, and...you get the idea.
We have had a ton of late nights and long weekends and I'm hoping another week more and we will be done, or as close to it as we are going to get until the next project begins.
It has been a long process and a tiring one but our house is looking so amazing and I'm so happy with the way things are turning out. Our house isn't very old but I've never loved the colors or the floors and now I get exactly what I want and it has been fun even if it has been a lot of work. My husband is a super hero and doing all of the hard labor himself (truly he is amazing!) and because of it we are saving so much money, book money you guys. Okay, maybe not book money but maybe, you never know. ;)
So anyways, that is what I have been up to and why I've been so quiet around the blogsphere. I haven't disappeared, I've been lurking here and there when I have time but util our house doesn't look like a danger zone/construction site anymore, I will be here and there and posting very little.
Thanks so much everyone for visiting when I have posted, it means the world to me and I've missed you guys. Hopefully I will be back to a more normal posting rate in the next week or so.
Until then, everyone stay safe and happy!
oh goos luck for the remodeling!
ReplyDeleteThank you!
DeleteOh boy! My parents are remodeling our home too so I can definitely understand the danger zone! Good luck with it, Ali, and take your time. We'll be here! :)
ReplyDeleteThanks so much Nick and good luck with your parents remodel as well! They are daunting but so worth it too. ;)
DeleteDon't you just LOVE walking into a freshly painted, newly carpeted or freshly tiled or laid floor. Congrats Kindlemom! I painted my entire house last fall and only have one room left, the dreaded library, ahhhhh :)

Yes! We choose brighter colors and I am so in love with them!
DeleteOh man, we just went through a remodel at my office. Good luck, it's worth it in the end.
ReplyDeleteI know it will and the end is in sight so that helps as well. ;)
DeleteGood luck with it!! I am sure it will look great and all the hard work will pay off!
ReplyDeleteOne can only hope. :P
DeleteMiss you Ali <3 Glad you are doing well. Remodeling can be fun but a lot of work
ReplyDeleteThanks so much Lily, you too!!
DeleteOh man. I was wondering where you've been. Sounds horrible but hopefully soon you can sit back, take it all in, and enjoy all the hard work you guys did. Good luck with the remodeling.
ReplyDeleteThank you, I appreciate it! :D
DeleteGood luck on the remodeling. I need to work on my own place. I was hoping that I could use my Spring Break to get inspired. :)
ReplyDeleteSpring is definitely a time for new. ;)
DeleteOh I bet that's tiring. I had a fb friend putting n hardwood floors not too long ago and she was tired and it took a while to do. Good luck.
ReplyDeleteIt really is hard work, a lot harder than one would think for sure. ;)
DeleteBest of luck on the remodeling. We really need a good remodel too.
ReplyDeleteThank you! :D
Delete*hugs* Thank you so much Heidi! I will definitely post some pics, so far it is turning out great, just taking a long time for sure. I hope to be back to blogging soon. The break has been good too though at the same time. ;)
ReplyDeleteSorry for the stress but I bet it is all going to be worth it!
ReplyDeleteIt will be and thanks! ;)
DeleteI remember when we did our floors and what a mess that was. I can't imagine what doing all of that must've been like. But yay for how amazing your house is going to look now! It will be nice to have you back.
ReplyDeleteThanks Molly! <3
DeleteYay for new floors! And good job to hubby! Sounds like you chose well. lol
ReplyDeleteYes and yes. :D
DeleteWow, lots of work but it will all be worth it!
ReplyDeleteDefinitely! :D
DeleteYes, these type of projects suck the life out of you and leave no room for anything else. You need to post pics when you are done :)
ReplyDeleteHopefully I will remember too. ;)
DeleteOh I know how hard it can renovating your house, we had our extension done and it was such a messy process! But it will look amazing once its all done. I hope everything goes okay for you!
ReplyDeleteOH yes, I can just imagine how crazy that would be. Thankfully no knocked down walls here!
DeleteLOL remodeling is the very devil. I've been doing it here since last summer. Just me in my spare time so it's been real slow going. I'm still in that 'omg what have I done phase' heh I hope you'll share pictures when you're done with yours!!
ReplyDeleteGood luck with all of your's Anna, it really can seem daunting at times.
DeleteYou are extremely lucky your husband can do this stuff. It's so expensive. As Kimberly said, I hope you post some pictures when you have time. Hope it's done very soon!
ReplyDeleteThanks and I know, he really is fabulous and is doing such a wonderful job on everything!
DeleteThat's awesome your husband can do all the manual labor - definitely saves so much money! :)
ReplyDeleteOoh big job! I bet it will be fantastic when it's done. :)
ReplyDeleteIt looks better every day. ;)
DeleteRemodeling does suck! We did the same thing about 2 years ago. I listened to an audio book while taking of heaps of wallpaper before we starting. Didn't even mind it because the book was so suspenseful the time just whizzed by.
ReplyDeleteGlad to hear you're happy with the results so far! :)
Oh man, I should have tried that! It didn't even occur to me for some reason. :(
DeleteI have also not being visiting around the blogosphere for a variety of reasons myself as well. But I'm back and glad to be posting and visiting other blogs. All the best with the home renovations!
ReplyDeleteIt's nice that you are back. ;)
DeleteHi, Ali! Are you done with remodeling now? I hope everything turned out as planned. Remodeling can be gruesome task, but in the end you’ll be looking around your beautiful house. I hope you’ll treat yourself with a book from you wish list with some of “saved book money”. Sorry I haven’t been around much lately; real life is kicking me in the butt.
ReplyDeleteHey you, good to see you! :D Still not done but we are getting there. Glad you are doing well!
DeleteBut it'll be worth it in the end. I'm also planning on doing a bit of redecorating, retouching paints, and spring cleaning on weekends. Just the thought of it makes me feel so freaking tired but it's gotta be done, right? Looking forward to your updates, Ali!
ReplyDeleteGood luck with all the stuff you want to do as well! I wish I would have taken before (during the disaster) and after pics, it would be so much more fun to share.
