Fear the Reaper Read A-Long Week Three!

It is week three in the Fear The Reaper Read-a-long with Darynda Jones' is fabulous book First Grave on the Right.

This weeks questions are hosted by In the Closet Bibliophile.

I just love this series and this read-a-long has been so much fun, if you haven't joined yet and want to, it isn't too late! This is such a great series. I can't remember the last time I laughed so many times in one sitting while reading a book.

This weeks questions for Chapters 11-15 are:

1. I do have a soft spot for Charley's Aunt Lilian. She is sweet and soft while somehow also being a little dirty and I find that hilarious in an aunt. Do you have any relatives dead or alive that remind you of Aunt Lillian? If not, tell me about your favorite deceased relative.

I think I love all of Charley's relatives and friends, they are all so great and funny and caring. We never really had a comedian in our family but I have a brother in law now that is so funny. I look forward to all of our family gatherings where he will be present because I just know by the end of the night my face will hurt with all of the laughing I have done, and yes, sometimes it is at his expense but he is a good sports about it. ;)

2.  In these chapters, we get a little closer to Reyes and his secrets. Neil, the warden at the prison where Reyes is currently incarcerated - and a high school mate of Charley's - tells a story about how Reyes ended up in the Coma and something he witnessed. What do you think of the story? What does this lead you to think about Reyes?

I actually liked this story, not only dies it add yet another air of mystery to the famous Reyes but it also gave me hope that maybe just maybe he really is one of the good guys. Definitely made me want to read more and find out all I could about him.

3.  One of the things I love most about Ubie and Charley's relationship is that Ubie aka Uncle Bob has absolute faith in our Charley. Maybe it's because Charley's been solving murder cases for ages and Ubie knows that Charley knows things. If you could pick a super power, which one would you choose? Seeing the dead? Invisibility?

I always thought it would be so much fun to be able to read minds but then on the other hand, to always know what people were thinking about me, yeah, maybe that wouldn't be such a great thing LOL! I am pretty sensitive so you can see how being able to always know what someone thought about you might not be the best thing.
Hmm, I guess if I had to pick another one instead, maybe being able to heal. think of all the people you could help with a super power like that one?

4.  Okay, in my opinion, there is nothing better than walking into your living room and seeing the god-like creature  of your dreams standing there waiting for you. If you were in Charley's shoes, who would be standing in your living room??

Hands down my husband. Corny I know but so so true. I love everything about him and just when I think I couldn't love him more he goes and says or does something incredibly wonderful and I do. He is my best friend in every way possible.

5.  We get a surprise visit from Rosie's husband and we find out some information about Reyes...that he and The Big Bad are the same guy. What are your thoughts? Were you surprised about Rosie's husband or did you feel that one coming? What about Bad Reyes, had you already made the connection?

I will admit, I had my suspicions that they were in fact one in the same, I didn't know how or even why but the thought did cross my mind numerous times.
As far as Rosie's husband, that was sad what he did to her. I was really hoping she had gotten away. Abusive relationships are so heartbreaking to see and even read about.

  3. I don't think I'd want to read minds either. I sometimes have trouble with what people actually say! LOL I wouldn't mind healing, especially my loved ones and friends, but I can see it wearing you out. Still would be nice.

Ah and I'm jelly. Love the way you talk about your hubs. So sweet!!!

  4. I agree Melissa, I would hate to think what some people were really thinking. I mean if looks could kill, what are they possibly thinking? I shudder to think about it! :P

  9. Healing powers would be cool actually. My only problem would be to heal everyone that I'm come across!
