Book Description:
Can love save them?
After her father commits a crime that shatters her family, eighteen-year-old Delaney Cross is tired of pretending everything is all right. Packing up her car, she sets out to find the people her father hurt. Her search leads her to places she’s never been—and into the arms of Adrian Westfall.
To the outside world, Adrian is a sexy, charming ladies’ man. But his playboy persona is just an act. Secretly his soul is tortured by a memory too painful to share. Only Delaney seems to see through his façade to the real man underneath. And for the first time in his life, Adrian feels he can begin to open up about his past.
Together, Adrian and Delaney share a passionate love they never expected to find. Yet both still harbor their own secrets. When the dark truth is finally revealed, will it bring them closer together—or tear them apart forever?
My Thoughts and Review:
I knew there had to be more to Adrian after reading Charade, I mean, he is a guy Nyrae created and after all, aren't all the men she creates just a little bit “more”?
We did see glimpses of what may lay under the surface but nothing strong enough to truly hint at the tortured soul that was inside. The good, kind soul that was inside.
After Nyrae tore my heart out and put it back together again in Charade I just knew this was going to be another emotional read, heck after the first opening chapter and getting a look inside of Adrian's head, I knew this was going to be an emotional read. And oh boy was I right and then some. In all honestly I am still not sure I have recovered completely from this sweet story. Nyrae broke my heart and shattered it in a million pieces once again and I love her for that. I love that she can draw that much emotion for me every single time.
Nyrae will never cease to amaze me at the talent of her writing and the swoon worthy men that she creates. Adrian was so much deeper than I ever thought he would be and I should have known better. I should have known that there would be so many depths to him and to his story. It just about broke my heart from the very beginning. This isn't like Charade in the simple fact that it felt..darker, sadder maybe? Very much more emotional on all counts and on all levels.
Adrian and his ghost girl were absolutely perfect for each other and I couldn't of asked for a better female character in Laney if I tried and I am so excited that the next story will be about Maddox because I loved what I got to see from him and I can't wait to get deep inside that boy and see what makes him tick, I just know it will be another amazing story that will blow me away, rip my heart out and then slowly piece it all together again, all while I have tears in my eyes and a smile on my face like only Nyrae can do.
Once again this was absolutely amazing and I couldn't have asked for a more perfect read, if I didn't already love Nyrae this book would have convinced me that I needed to. Not only do we get all of Adrian's story but we still get glimpses into Chey and Colt's and just made the read even better for me. I really can not wait for the third book.

Okay, clearly I need to read something by Nyrae Dawn! I love authors who rip out my heart and stomp on it, and then slowly but surely put it back where it belongs, and Nyrae is obviously an author that does that brilliantly. I've had Charade on my list for a while, but I really need to finally get to it and then grab Facade! Beautiful review:)
