Author Interview:

MGO:  How old were you when you got your first kiss? Was it everything it should have been or completely forgettable?

S.L.: I was 14 when I got my first real kiss. It was on my best friends front porch swing. The perfect set up for all things wonderful. He was two years older than me. It was not his first kiss. lol It was good and awkward and the kiss itself not that memorable. haha.

MGO: What or whom was your inspiration while writing Naturally Charlie?

S.L.: (A little spoiler - skip this if you don't want to read it) I listened to a lot of music that felt like the mood of the scene I was writing. I've put a playlist on my blog with a few of those songs. I also had very specific goals I wanted from the two main characters. I knew I wanted them meet in a time that was a little darker and to find their way toward the light together. That sounds ominous. The story is not though.

MGO: When did you know you first wanted to become a writer?
S.L.: I always wrote little things like poems or a little book where you staple it together. But I got more serious about writing in high school. I started in their newspaper journalism class and it developed from there.

MGO: What did you want to be when you were little?
S.L.: It's not an original answer, but it's true: an actress.

MGO:
Favorite comfort food?

S.L.: Mexican food is my favorite food, but I'm a southern girl so I love chicken fried steak. It's heavy and comforting to me.

MGO: Are your characters based off of people you know in real life?
S.L.: No, they are completely from my imagination. I'm sure there are aspects of real life people in there, but overall, neither of the Charlies really resemble anyone I know.

MGO: What are you currently working on now that Naturally Charlie
 is out?

S.L.: I recently released a novelette called Morning Glory that is on Amazon. That's been very exciting, but right now I'm fully focused on the two Charlies.

MGO: Thank you so much for being here today and answering all my questions!!

My Thoughts and Review on Naturally, Charlie:

I adore stories like this. There is just something so wonderful and heartwarming reading about two people who build a bond through friendship and then later having that friendship turn into something bigger and better. I think all classic love stories start out that way.

Fate throwing two people together over and over again until it can no longer be ignored and the two must come together and help each other out. Make each other stronger and help to heal one another.

First off, I know I have said this before but it bares saying again, I love that this book has both POVs from both Charlies. I really love that authors are giving us that more and more lately. It makes the book that much better in my opinion.

This was such an amazing story. The characters felt so real to me. Nothing ever seemed too far fetched or unbelievable. There wasn't an insta love connection which was super nice. Those insta love things are starting to wear on me a little.

There was an instant attraction and sparks but not love, which was nice. Their were so many sweet and tender moments in this between the two Charlies that they made me melt a little. This is a heartwarming read without being overly dramatic or sappy.

Both Charlie were great characters and their love story will stick with me long after I have finished this review. This was very well executed and I will be keeping my eye on the author for any future books they may write. I know I will be buying them as soon as I see them.

I just can't give this one anything less than the 5 Stars that it so rightly deserves.
