Waiting on Wednesday is a weekly meme hosted by Jill at Breaking the Spine. It is a chance to share those new releases were are super anxious to get our hands on and read.
This weeks choice was an easy one, already being a fan of the author's. How could I resist a new series from her?
Release Date: June 9, 2015 (Delacorte)
Book Description:
Sixteen-year-old Nina Kane should be worrying about her immortal soul, but she's too busy trying to actually survive. Her town's population has been decimated by soul-consuming demons, and souls are in short supply. Watching over her younger sister, Mellie, and scraping together food and money are all that matters. The two of them are a family. They gave up on their deadbeat mom a long time ago.
When Nina discovers that Mellie is keeping a secret that threatens their very existence, she'll do anything to protect her. Because in New Temperance, sins are prosecuted as crimes by the brutal Church and its army of black-robed exorcists. And Mellie's sin has put her in serious trouble.
To keep them both alive, Nina will need to trust Finn, a fugitive with deep green eyes who has already saved her life once and who might just be an exorcist. But what kind of exorcist wears a hoodie?
Wanted by the Church and hunted by dark forces, Nina knows she can't survive on her own. She needs Finn and his group of rogue friends just as much as they need her.
So what do you think? Sound like something you would like as well? Have you tried her other series?

I haven't read much Vincent, but from the things I've heard, I think I'd have the best luck with one of her YA series (and it's always easier to start with a new one then to try and catch up with an old one). I might have to try this too ;) Great pick!
ReplyDeleteThat is very true. Even though I love her YA series, I have yet to finish it. 0-O
DeleteI haven't heard about this book before, but it does sound interesting :D The cover is beautiful as well.
ReplyDeleteI do love a good cover. ;)
DeleteI'm very excited to check this out! I've been wanting to try more of Rachel Vincent and saw this and hope to make the jump into this new series! It sounds dark, gritty and actioned packed. Demons, dreamy eye-boy and dark forces all go well together ;)
ReplyDeleteGreat Pick, Ali!!
Yay! I too love a good dark read every now and then. :)
DeleteOMG YES ALI!!!! Rachel Vincent + A drop dead gorgeous cover = I don't even care what it's about, I need it immediately! Of course it sounds awesome as well, so bonus:)
ReplyDeleteLOL! I <3 you Jenny!
DeleteOh wow! This is worthy to be featured intoday's post. Is this a new series?
ReplyDeleteYep! Sounds exciting huh?
DeleteIt sounds good, but I'm a little hesitant on the whole demons or angels angle. Maybe it's just because I've read so much of it that I'm ready for something else? Regardless, this sounds good.
ReplyDeleteI usually am too to be honest but I love this author so I am willing to give it a go. :)
DeleteI'm excited for this one too, mostly because I like the cover - haha! But the plot sounds great too and I think it's time I start a Rachel Vincent book!!
ReplyDeleteIt is time if you haven't tried her yet for sure!
DeleteI've really only read Vincent's adult shifter series but I did enjoy it. I hope you get a review copy so I can read your thoughts on it.
