WoW Pick of the Week!

Waiting on Wednesday is a weekly meme hosted by Jill at Breaking the Spine. It is a chance to share those new releases were are super anxious to get our hands on and read.

This just sounds perfect for fall and since I do love a good mystery/thriller every now and then, not to mention the ability to freak myself out with a haunting tale, I think this one will fit nicely with the time of year and fill all the requirements above, and yes, I love the cover too. Darn cover whore tendencies.

Book Description:

Set in gilded age New York, These Shallow Graves follows the story of Josephine Montfort, an American aristocrat. Jo lives a life of old-money ease. Not much is expected of her other than to look good and marry well. But when her father dies due to an accidental gunshot, the gilding on Jo’s world starts to tarnish. With the help of a handsome and brash reporter, and a young medical student who moonlights in the city morgue, Jo uncovers the truth behind her father’s death and learns that if you’re going to bury the past, you’d better bury it deep.

    1. Yep I think it is suppose to be, sadly I did read it and it was more of a mystery than a thriller but that was okay because it was still good. ;)

  15. Ooh, how did I not know about this one! I liked the author's other books so this one should be good as well. And I can't blame you-that cover is gorgeous!

  16. I snagged this one from NG and I can't wait to read it. It reminds me a bit from the author's debut novel, A Northern Light which also has a historical fiction/murder mystery vibe to it, which I loved. I really hope this one is just as good.

    1. Btw your "darn cover whore tendencies" comment made me lol so hard. I totally get that! It is a beautiful cover and half the reason I want to read it. They say don't judge a book by its cover, but what if you judge in a good way? Lol 😂

    2. Glad I could make you laugh. ;) I do judge well sometimes. ;P
