Goodreads Description:
Galen is the prince of the Syrena, sent to land to find a girl he’s heard can communicate with fish. Emma is on vacation at the beach. When she runs into Galen—literally, ouch!—both teens sense a connection. But it will take several encounters, including a deadly one with a shark, for Galen to be convinced of Emma’s gifts. Now, if he can only convince Emma that she holds the key to his kingdom . . .
Told from both Emma and Galen’s points of view, here is a fish-out-of-water story that sparkles with intrigue, humor, and waves of romance.
My Review:
I absolutely love it when I find a book
that can make me smile and laugh out loud within the first few pages
and that is exactly what this book did.
I love books like these because lets
face it, who doesn't like to laugh? And also because I know right
away I will love the main character who has the witty sarcastic sense
of humor I so wish I had. You know, the type that can come up with a
one liner that will blow you away in a matter of a nanosecond.
I envy those people.
Emma is such a person and her friend
Chloe is just as great. Right away I was introduced into a world of
two people I want to be real. I want them as friends!
Actually all of the characters in this
book were fabulous. I loved all the arguing, fighting, loving,
quirks, all of it. They were all so refreshing and fun to read about.
This is one of those books that is so
great you just don't even know how to put it into words, in fact I
would go as far as to say that it is probably the best book about
mermaids (ahem Syrena) that I have ever read.
And the ending? Gah the ending!
Normally I hate cliffhanger endings but I just loved this one. It was
perfect and it makes me so anxious for the next book to be out.
Awesome review! I enjoyed this one too and am anxious to see what happens next. Like you I loved the cliff-hanger!
ReplyDeleteThis review has really created an interest for me in reading a teen paranormal that also incorporates great humour...would love to see how that reads. Will look for it on Amazon.
ReplyDeletekimba, did you see that there will be a prequel out soon too? I can't wait for it!
ReplyDeleteI hope you like it too Heidi! The cliffhanger isn't so bad and really, I sort of saw it coming so it wasn't so bad. It does make me want to read the next one..like right now lol!
@S.A. thanks! I hope if you do decide to try it you like it!!
I am so glad that you loved it. I liked it, but it there were just a couple of things that were real pet peeves for me. Great review. - FABR Steph
