Goodreads Description:
Meant to be or not meant to be . . . that is the question.

It's one thing to fall head over heels into a puddle of hazelnut coffee, and quite another to fall for the—gasp—wrong guy. Straight-A junior Julia may be accident prone, but she's queen of following rules and being prepared. That's why she keeps a pencil sharpener in her purse and a pocket Shakespeare in her, well, pocket. And that's also why she's chosen Mark Bixford, her childhood crush, as her MTB ("meant to be").

But this spring break, Julia's rules are about to get defenestrated (SAT word: to be thrown from a window) when she's partnered with her personal nemesis, class-clown Jason, on a school trip to London. After one wild party, Julia starts receiving romantic texts . . . from an unknown number! Jason promises to help discover the identity of her mysterious new suitor if she agrees to break a few rules along the way. And thus begins a wild goose chase through London, leading Julia closer and closer to the biggest surprise of all: true love.

Because sometimes the things you least expect are the most meant to be.

My Review:

I wanted to read this book from the first moment I saw the cover (yeah, I know, pretty shallow). I can't help it though, covers do a lot to draw the reader in and this one did its job well.

From the very first hilarious page I knew I was going to love this read. Julia is such a great feisty character. She needed a little fun in her life. It needed to be shaken up and Jason was just the person to do it, whether she wanted him to or not.

Ah, Jason. His charismatic charm and practical jokes, I couldn't help but love him. I knew he was going to help liven up our rule following heroine and make sure she had some fun along the way as well. Not to mention maybe even surprise Julia a little too.

I loved all the banter between them. The animosity from Julia and the something more from Jason. I knew there was going to be so much more there from him than Julia would ever even imagine. And while I wouldn't say this book was predictable I did have a pretty good idea where it was going to go but getting there was the best part of it. This was a beautifully written story.

This book really did suck me right into the story. I could picture myself in London right along with Julia and Jason. I was swept up in their story and found it hard to put down. Everything flowed so nicely that it felt more like I was watching a movie than immersed in a book.

I am so glad that this was one of those rare times that the beautiful cover really did portray the story inside. This was everything that I hoped it would and then some.

  1. I WANT THIS BOOK SO BAD! Yes, I had to yell. I'm just squealing all over the place cause I just KNOW I will love this book! Unfortunately there's no way I can afford to get it soon so I will watch at the library and just work my hardest on my TBR so I can get it. I really want to own it, I think my sister would love it too, but sometimes that's not possible. Anyway, I'm so glad to see you loved it!
