My Thoughts and Review:
I have been waiting for this sequel
since I finished Flight. I couldn't wait to sink into it and
find out what happened next.
Can I tell you how excited I am about
this series? It really is different and fun and just something that I
needed to break up the sameness that sometimes happens in the YA
genre.
Ivy did not disappoint with this
sequel, not at all. We once again get lots of Levi. And while he can
sometimes he cocky and a little alpha male, I love him for it. There
is just something about him that I can't help but like. He is so
sweet and rotten at the same time. He can be controlling and bossy
yet he adores Allie and would do anything for her. Yeah, he made some
big mistakes in Flight but again, I still loved him.
I would like to say he is perfect in
this one but he isn't, not even close. But what we do see from him,
his tender side, the love he has for Allie, it makes up for all his
alpha male stupidity.
I really like Allie too but sometimes I
wanted to smack her and tell her to stop being a shrew and to get
over herself. I know Levi betrayed her trust in the first novel but
he did it for all the right reasons and okay, if it were me, I would
have been ultra ticked too but really, he was so good to her and he
tried really hard to make it up to her and not leave her in the dark
again about The Society and his and her role in it. I just thought
that she needed to give him a little break, much sooner than she did.
They shared some really great moments
in this one and I just couldn't get enough of them. I was glad that
Allie stood up for herself and that she had some great friends there
to help her figure things out and to help her out along the way, one
of those being Levi.
Really, I think I understood him so
much more after reading this one and while I still didn't always
agree with his thinking or the things he did (or tried to do) I could
understand it now and accept it more.
Hailey, Anne, Owen, Jared and a new
girl Tiffany were all once again great characters. People you would
want to go and hang with.
So much happens in this. We learn more
about The Society, about Levi and yet there are still many mysteries
that you just know are buried and have yet to be discovered.
The ending wasn't exactly a cliffhanger
but it definitely didn't make me want for it to be over. I was glad
in some ways that it ended on the high note with Levi and Allie that
it did but of course there was a low note as well that I can't wait
to read about in the next installment.
I really did enjoy this
and thought it was a great sequel to the series. I give this one 4
Solid Stars!
I love this series too. Levi is such a fun character. He does have a cocky alpha side but it isn't overbearing and he also has such a big sweet and loving side. Allie can be a bit hard headed. The ending was interesting and I just know Allie is going to try to solve the problem on her own and Levi will have to save her. I also love the secondary characters.
ReplyDeleteI read this whole book just last night and I loved it. I have been excited since reading Flight to, and now I cannot wait for Found. I really like Levi now to, but I'd really like to kick Toby's butt. Dying to know what happens next. Do you think the guy on the cover of found is Levi? I hope so.
ReplyDeleteI think it might be Ellen, at least I hope so. I don't want Allie to revert back to being mean to Levi, I like him too much now!
ReplyDeleteI have heard a lot about this series lately, it sounds pretty great and people seem to be loving it!
ReplyDeleteI've only read Flight, but Levi is one of the reasons why I love this series. I can see his reasons for doing what he did, but at the same time I want to smack him :)
ReplyDeleteIt sounds like I need to check out Flight so I can read this. I'm always on the lookout for YA reads that break out of the sameness. Levi sounds wonderful too! :-)
ReplyDeleteGreat review!
Don't even get me started. I need to read this series so damn bad. I mean, I was part of the cover reveal for the 1st book, for goodness sakes. Ugh. Glad you like it so much.
ReplyDeleteThanks so much for reading and reviewing Focus! I'm glad you enjoyed it. :)
