Book Description:
 Knowing the outcome doesn’t always make a choice easier . . .

Addison Coleman’s life is one big “What if?” As a Searcher, whenever Addie is faced with a choice, she can look into the future and see both outcomes. It’s the ultimate insurance plan against disaster. Or so she thought. When Addie’s parents ambush her with the news of their divorce, she has to pick who she wants to live with—her father, who is leaving the paranormal compound to live among the “Norms,” or her mother, who is staying in the life Addie has always known. Addie loves her life just as it is, so her answer should be easy. One Search six weeks into the future proves it’s not.

In one potential future, Addie is adjusting to life outside the Compound as the new girl in a Norm high school where she meets Trevor, a cute, sensitive artist who understands her. In the other path, Addie is being pursued by the hottest guy in school—but she never wanted to be a quarterback’s girlfriend. When Addie’s father is asked to consult on a murder in the Compound, she’s unwittingly drawn into a dangerous game that threatens everything she holds dear. With love and loss in both lives, it all comes down to which reality she’s willing to live through . . . and who she can’t live without.

My Review:
I liked this book from the very first chapter. Laila's wit and Addie's sarcasm where a perfect best friend combo. Plus, come on, a bunch of teenagers all with special abilities living in a secret Compound hidden from the “Norms”. Who wouldn't love that?

Addie is a Searcher (Divergence)., someone who can see into the future. See all the possible outcomes one decision can make and even with all her abilities, she still didn't see what would await her one day after school. The fact that her parents were getting a divorce and she must choose which one to stay with. A life as she knows it inside the Compound or a new life outside the Compound living with the “Norms”.

I was so excited to read this one. I was completely looking forward to reading something a little different than what seems to be my norm lately. Plus all the glowing reviews I have seen made me even more anxious to give it a try, even though lots of glowing reviews usually scare me a little, for some reason I just knew this one wasn't going to disappoint.

I love how Addie's two possible futures were handled in this, passing back and forth with each chapter (never confusing because of the way each chapter opened with a definition or something to do with either “norm” or “para'), one from the other. It reminded me a lot of the movie Sliding Doors.

I loved how even though she is in two different places, her two futures still collide in many ways.

Duke, Trevor, gah! How could a girl possibly pick between the two? Well actually it is easy, it was always easy for me but I won't say anymore about that because I don't want to give anything away.

All you really need to know is this, this book seriously rocks. It was amazing and something I would recommend to absolutely everyone.

Addie rocked and I absolutely loved her character as well. She is so much more than her ability. And the ending, really was perfect because you know it will turn out exactly like you want it to even if you didn't see it all.

This was so well done. I am truly sad it is over but I am so glad that it is part of a series because I can't wait to read more. I will be (not) so patiently awaiting it.

  9. LOVED this one! A fav! I love Sliding Doors and I always find it interesting to see how your life could be different if you made a different choice. It was awesome how some things still happened no matter what choice was made and how the paths collided. I loved both boys even with their different mistakes. I am so excited for the sequel! I want more depth into the paranormal compound.
