Book Description
This is the story of Teague and Cailin, two teenagers who have been brought together by fate. Teague, a human, struggles to come to terms with the consequences of a recent accident that has destroyed the happy life that he had once enjoyed. Cailin, a pixi, is trying to stay true to herself while fighting against forces beyond her control that have exiled her from her home into this strange world of humans. She fears the darkness. He cannot escape it. But when the two of them are thrown together, they begin to discover the light inside of themselves.

My Review:
This was a great coming of age story about two very different people thrown together through punishment and tragedy.

Teague was a very broken boy who really just needed someone to be there for him. Someone who knew him for the man he was now and not the boy he was before his accident.

Cailin was a young fae girl who was just trying to be the person she wanted to be in a society that restricted being different. She too was lost and just needed someone to talk to and to understand that being different wasn't necessarily a scary thing or a bad thing.

This is the first book in a planned series so there is no definite resolution to any of the mysteries uncovered and it does leave room for a lot to happen in the next books. Mostly this seemed to be more about character and world building, which was understandable and just fine with me.

This is definitely an interesting and different read that I think anyone wanting something about Pixis geared more towards teenagers would enjoy and even though there is a lot of world building going on, the characters are all loveable and the story flowed nicely.

  2. This sounds interesting and I like that cover! I think I might want a bit more to it though so maybe I'll wait until the next book is out before I decide to add it to my shelf.
