Waiting on Wednesday is a weekly meme hosted by Jill at Breaking the Spine. It is a chance to share those new releases were are super anxious to get our hands on and read.
Are you ready for 2014 to be over?
I am excited for a new year and with a new year comes a whole slew of new releases!
And one of those new releases just so happens to belong to one of my most favorite urban fantasy series, the Charley Davidson series.
If you haven't meet Charley or Reyes yet you are seriously missing out, not to mention deprived. This series is so darn funny with just the right amount of mystery, romance, and action to make it a page turner and one that is hard to put down. I actually morn the loss of each new book when it is over, this series is that good.
Release Date: May 19, 2015
Book Description:
With twelve hellhounds after her, pregnant Charley Davidson takes refuge at the only place she thinks they can’t get to her: the grounds of an abandoned convent. But after months of being cooped up there, Charley is ready to pop. Both metaphorically and literally since she is now roughly the size of a beached whale. Fortunately, a new case has captured her attention, one that involves a murder on the very grounds the team has taken shelter upon. A decades-old murder of the newly-vowed nun she keeps seeing in the shadows is almost enough to pull her out of her doldrums.
Charley’s been forbidden to step foot off the sacred grounds. While the angry hellhounds can’t traverse the consecrated soil, they can lurk just beyond its borders. They have the entire team on edge, especially Reyes. And if Charley didn’t know better, she would swear Reyes is getting sick. He grows hotter with every moment that passes, his heat scorching across her skin every time he’s near, but naturally he swears he’s fine.
While the team searches for clues on the Twelve, Charley just wants answers and is powerless to get them. But the mass of friends they’ve accrued helps. They convince her even more that everyone in her recent life has somehow been drawn to her, as though they were a part of a bigger picture all along. But the good feelings don’t last for long because Charley is about to get the surprise of her crazy, mixed-up, supernatural life….

YES! I am beyond desperate to read this! Honestly, I would give just about anything to get my hands on this beauty. And what on earth is wrong with Reyes? Be still my heart. :))

DeleteAhhhhh!!!! I'm so far behind on this series Ali! I'm still on book one. Epic fail. The good news is, I'll be able to just binge read and won't have to worry about cliffhangers:)
ReplyDeleteSo true!
DeleteSqueee! Heck yes - I'm there ... I need to hurry up and read book seven though, but that shouldn't be a hardship with Reyes : )
ReplyDeleteIt is never a hardship with Reyes there. :P
DeleteWow! What an intense series...and, although I've seen these books around, I have not yet read one. Hope you enjoy it.
ReplyDeleteHere's mine: https://bluemondaysnomore.wordpress.com/2015/01/06/chase-away-your-blues-with-the-day-we-met/
Oh gosh, you need to read one, they are just fabulous. They have everything, and I do mean everything, I look for in a good UF.
DeleteI haven't read any of the Charley Davidson series, but between you and these other comments, I'm sold. I'll have to check it out! I just need to knock out a few other series first before I attempt to start another! I have way too many series going!!
ReplyDeleteI hear you about that but I really do hope you try it, this series is just amazing!
DeleteAhhhhhhhhhhhh! Me too! I'm on the Seventh Grave so far in the series and it's by far my favourite UF series. Reyes. OMG! He is just beautifully hot and dangerous/ My god some of the moments on the books... Wow wee! Haha! Great pick! :D
ReplyDeleteHe is definitely a favorite all by himself. ;)
DeleteLooks like I have until May to read the first seven books. HAH! I really do want to read this series though.
ReplyDeleteTrust me, if you start you will want to plow through them. It is what happened to me!
DeleteI am too! I am glad she usually releases two a year. It will be so sad when this series is over though. Thankfully we have awhile to worry about that yet.
ReplyDeleteI'm behind on this series but I've read the first two now so maybe with my next audible credit I'll grab the third one. :)
ReplyDeleteYay, I hope you do Candace. This series really hooks you!

ReplyDeleteOh no! At least it finally worked for you! I bet these are pretty great in person.
DeleteI've read Death and The Boy Next Door by her, and wasn't a huge fan of that, but I've heard some amazing things about her adult novels! I think I'll definitely give the first one in this series a try eventually :)
ReplyDeleteThat series definitely isn't as good and this one is.
DeleteI really need to get my ass going on this series. everyone loves it.

DeleteOhhh, this is one of the really popular urban fantasies, isn't it? :D I haven't read the first one yet but I really plan to. I may have to find someone else to buddy read it with me though ;)
ReplyDeleteFaye at The Social Potato
It is but it really does stand up to all the hype!
DeleteOkay I seriously have to try out this series already! If only my library had it! I admit it's the funny with fantasy of course that makes me curious.
ReplyDeleteOh gosh, you do! This is a favorite of mine for sure!
DeleteTHE COVER REVEAL FOR THE 8TH BOOK HAPPENED AND I DIDN'T EVEN KNOW? I have SOOO much catching up to do! I saw something that gave me the idea I should wait for book 7 to come out after reading book 6 so I didn't read book 6 when it came out and now there is book 8 coming out. I need to get my life sorted out. On a plus note, I DID just buy book 6 so I am getting there! :D
ReplyDeleteFantastic pick, Ali!!! :D
Rashika @ The Social Potato

ReplyDeleteIt really is a great series, so much fun!
Delete*snickers* You know . . . last year, right after book 7 came out, I SWORE to myself that I would be caught up on the series before this one was released . . . I still have time though. Four months is plenty of time ;) Great pick!
