Goodreads Description:
Locked in an unexpected land dispute, Rafe Stryker is trapped in the one place he vowed never to return to – the Castle Ranch in Fool’s Gold, California. He made millions facing ruthless adversaries in the boardroom, but nothing could’ve prepared him to go head-to-head against stubborn, beautiful Heidi Simpson. No one is more surprised than Rafe to discover that he’s finding Heidi – and life as a cowboy – much more compelling than he wants to admit. For Heidi, the Castle Ranch is the home she’s always wanted. After a life on the road, the vivacious blonde has finally put down roots. She won’t give that up without a fight, not even for a man whose late-night kisses make her yearn to be a little less…wholesome. As the two turn from passionate adversaries to passionate, period, they’ll discover that summer love can last a lifetime.

My Review:
Let me start off by saying that I love Mallery's work. Her books are so heartwarming and the characters are compeltely memorable and real.

Some of my favorite books by her are from the Fool's Gold series, I just love the town and the people and the whole atmosphere.

So I jumped at the chance to read and review her 7th book in the series Summer Days
Thankfully this one was just as good as some of her others in the series and did not disappoint at all.

Heidi was feisty and such a fun character. I really liked her. She was sweet and caring and fierce in her devotion.

Rafe was actually pretty great too, maybe not one of my favorites but I did love his loyalty to those he loved and the devotion and love he had for his mom. And when he did love, it was pretty great.

I have to say though that this book might have been stolen away by some of the secondary characters. Charlie was her fabulous self and Shane was pretty fantastic too. Annabelle, the mayor. Okay, really the whole town. I love seeing the characters from previous books and getting small glimpses into their lives. It is like being able to visit an old friend and catch up with them.

If you haven't tried any of Mallery's book you really need to. They are perfect for the summer. Sweet, heartwarming, real and just, well, all kinds of wonderful.

  5. I'm proud to be one of the Fool's Gold Cheerleaders! Susan's Fool's Gold series is my absolute favorite. Not only do you wish the town and characters were real, you feel like it all is. Susan goes above and beyond other authors by giving us updates between the stories and after the HEA through her website http://foolsgoldca.susanmallery.com/ I really enjoyed Rafe and Heidi's story. Their love bloomed gradually and they were both really real characters. I look forward to reading more about our favorite fictional town this summer :D

  7. I love this series!! I couldn't even pick my favorite book from it, because I love all of them. Each one speaks to me in a different way. I can't wait for Shane and Chad's stories this summer! And Fool's Gold... wouldn't you love to live there?? Sigh.

  8. I am proud to be one of the Fool's Gold Cheerleaders!! I love the Fool's Gold Series, which is my favorite series by Susan Mallery. I love series because you get to know each of the characters throughout each of the books. Once I read "Chasing Perfect" (Book #1), I was hooked & I did not want to leave Fool's Gold. I just wished that this town was real! I love the idea of how the town people are--helping others when they need it!

If you are looking for a new book, then Summer Days is it. If you are looking for a new series, then Fool's Gold is definitely it! You will not be disappointed!!

SUMMER DAYS is the perfect beach read. It’s funny, romantic, sexy, and it’s light both in tone and in actual weight – you can toss the paperback into your beach bag and go. It should be on everyone's must read list!

  14. Since May, I have also read Summer Nights. It has became my favorite of all of the Fool’s Gold books. Summer Nights is another great summer read. Annabelle is caring, a great friend, & so sweet! I love that Annabelle wanted to learn how to ride a horse for her fundraiser for her bookmobile. There is 1 thing that I absolutely love a lot & it has to do with Shane, but I am not going to give it away.
