Book Description:
Damsel in a wedding dress!

Jilted at the altar, celebrity chef Meghan Finnegan flees the scene—and the baying press—only to run straight into the muscled torso of Cash Sullivan.

The former rodeo champion knows what it's like to have your life crumble in the spotlight, so he offers Meghan a place to lie low at his ranch.

Fresh air, no paparazzi and the brooding rancher's lazy smile are making Meghan not want to leave her sanctuary. But she and her unborn baby can't stay here forever...can they?

Excerpt:
The fluffy material of the runaway bride's dress hit Cash in the face as she turned in the seat and slammed the door shut.

“Drive. Fast.”
He smashed down the material from her veil, not caring if he wrinkled it. He’d never laid eyes on this woman before today, and he wasn’t about to drive her anywhere until he got some answers. “Why?”

“I don’t have time to explain. Unless you want to be front and center in tomorrow’s paper, you’ll drive.”
His gaze swung around to the photographers. They hadn’t noticed her yet, but that didn’t ease his discomfort. “You didn’t kill anyone, did you?”

“Of course not.” She sighed. “Do you honestly think I’d be in this getup if I was going to murder someone?”

“I’m not into any Bonnie and Clyde scenario.”
“That’s good to know. Now that we have that straightened out, can you put the pedal to the metal and get us out of here before they find me?”

My Thoughts and Review:
I admit cowboys have never been my thing, they just haven't. But earlier this year I had the privilege of reading a great western and that one book changed my whole point of view about the good ole' southern gentlemen I was missing out on and I must confess, I have been hooked ever since.

Thankfully Rancher to the Rescue, while not a western per se, definitely has one hunky cowboy in it and he was pretty hard to resist. He met my expectations for what a southern man should be and then some.

This was a beautiful story. I loved how caring and real Cash was and felt. I loved his concern for his grandma and how he treated Meg with the utmost respect. I love that he wanted to be better than his past, better than the other men in his family. Really, I just loved everything about him.

Meg was pretty great and felt real as well. I loved how strong and determined she was and how even though she was going through a rough time in her life, she still came out fighting.

This didn't have all the angst some of these stories carry and I really appreciated that. I like that even though they had obstacles, nothing was too drawn out or over dramatic because lets face it, that gets old after awhile. It was refreshing to see a love story pure and simple, however imperfect at times it could be.

  2. Surprisingly cowboys have never really been my thing either. In fact, I don't think I've read a single romance that features them! I think I would fall madly in love with them though if I finally just got around to picking a western romance up:) Cash sounds adorable and I love that their romance is relatively angst free. I definitely need a break from all the drama sometimes! Awesome review:)

  4. I do like the occasional cowboy romance, and this one sounds like it could be sweet. Cash sounds like the perfect guy, and exactly what poor Meghan needs right now. I'm glad she didn't take her bad breaks lying down, I love when characters fight for themselves instead of wallowing. Awesome review!

  7. I've read some romances with cowboys and used to read westerns when I was younger, but I don't much now. I still get a craving though. This sounds good, especially since it's not overly dramatic.

  8. I'm not particularly attracted to cowboys either, possibly because I've never seen one in my entire life(us Euro girls, you know), but the lack of angst in this one is certainly attractive. I'm REALLY not fond of angst.
On my list it goes. I do love my romances.
    Great review!
