Looking for answers, they go to visit some of Joshua’s Seer relatives in New Orleans. But even in a city so famously steeped in the supernatural, Amelia ends up with more questions than answers…and becomes increasingly convinced that she and Joshua can never have a future together.Wandering through the French Quarter, Amelia meets other in-between ghosts, and begins to seriously consider joining them. And then she meets Gabrielle. Somehow, against impossible odds, Gaby has found a way to live a sort of half-life...a half-life for which Amelia would pay any price. Torn between two worlds, Amelia must choose carefully, before the evil spirits of the netherworld choose for her

My Review:
I fell in love with this series with the first book, Hereafter so I was super excited to be reading this one to see what Hudson had in store next for Amelia and Joshua.

And she did not disappoint!

Her newest installment, Arise, is full of even more mystery, suspense and twists and turns that I didn't even see coming.

It was a roller coaster of a ride and I enjoyed every minute of it!

Hudson once again impresses us with her beautiful writing and impressive cast of characters that you can't help but fall in love with and some of them, you even love to hate.

We get even more of the fabulously adorable Joshua (he just keeps getting better and better!) and we get to meet some very interesting family members of his as he and Amelia travel to New Orleans.

I love Joshua and Amelia's relationship. Joshua is so great to her, especially as more and more of Amelia's past and her future come into play in this book. He is so patient and kind to her. Their relationship isn't easy and it seems that new things are coming to light more and more with why they shouldn't or can't be together.

I loved some of the new characters, Josh's family and Gaby! They were great additions.

There is even more danger out there trying to tear them apart and bring Amelia to the otherworld. The demons are out there and they are getting impatient. They want Amelia and they are willing to do anything to get her. Amelia is torn about doing the right thing for Joshua and doing what her heart wants her to do.

Hudson has managed to take everything I loved and adored about Hereafter and magnify it a thousand fold.

I had a hard time putting this one down and can not wait to read the third book, it can't get here soon enough!
