Not Your Average Fairy Tale Blog Tour, Book Review and Giveaway!!!

I am so excited to be a part of this tour, not only is this a wonderful book but the author, Chantele is just as wonderful. Truly one of the nicest people I have met and spoken with. And lets face it, this book has a fabulous cover that just makes you want to pick it up and read it.

Title: Not Your Average Fairy Tale
Author: Chantele Sedgwig
Published By: Crescent Moon Press (August 1, 2012)
Genre: YA Fantasy
Synopsis:
Armed with wings and a blue wand, being a fairy godmother should be easy ... unless your name is Ash, and you're a dude.

Ash Summerland has it all–good looks, popularity, and the best grades at The Academy of Magical Beings. Ready to complete his last assignment in order to graduate, Ash is confident he will get the apprenticeship he wants. When he opens the letter from the Council, he is shocked to discover he has been assigned to apprentice Lady Shenelle, Keeper of Happy Endings. A.K.A. the head fairy godmother. Ash is forced to grant three wishes to a troubled human girl named Kendall, and ultimately give her a "happy ever after". But Kendall turns out to be more than he bargained for. Still grieving over her father's death, Kendall doesn't want anything to do with him. And worst of all, she doesn't believe in happy endings.

About the Author:
Chantele Sedgwick grew up playing the harp and singing. Little did anyone know, she always had stories floating around in her head. After she had her second baby, she finally realized she should probably write them down. Pursuing publication was something she only dreamed about, but now her dream is coming true.

The discovery of a first love, first kisses, and the many emotions teens go through, pushed Chantele to find her niche in writing teen fiction. Some of her stories share a few of her own experiences, but most of them are just fantasies she wished happened to her as a teen. She's a sucker for a great love story and always enjoys a happy ending. She tends to have a thing for the "bad boys" in books, unless they're total jerks. Then she'll root for the good guy.

When she's not writing, Chantele can be found spending time with her husband and three beautiful kids, or driving her sisters crazy with random story ideas. NOT YOUR AVERAGE FAIRY TALE is her first book.

My Thoughts and Review:

I don't even know how to convey how much fun this was to read. It has all the great elements I look for in a book.

A great girl with a little bit of an attitude, a little bit broken but still has room left in her to love and be loved.

A hot guy with an attitude to match, not the bad boy I love but does have a naughty side and who also has a heart of gold just waiting to come out.

A fun paranormal side, an emotional side, a nice sweet romance, humor bad guys, and oh yeah, did I mention fun?

This really was a great read. Just as good as I was hoping it would be and with a beautiful cover to boot!

This isn't a fluff read. If you are thinking all rainbows and sunshine, you are wrong! I was pleasantly surprised by that. To be honest I was expecting an entirely cutsie story and while I love those stories (as we all know) I am so glad there was more to it than that!

There were bad guys and conflict and the ending left it wide open for a sequel and I am excited about that as well.

Ash and Kendall were adorable. I loved Misty and Sam as well and really hope we get more of them (and maybe their stories as well) in the next book.

Dax was a great villain and I loved the twist in the end on who he really was and where he came from.

I absolutely will be reading the next book.

I give this one 4 Stars!

  2. That is a great cover! And it sounds so good!
If I had three wishes I would wish for a family reunion where my whole family could get together. Or that we could all live near eachother but that might not work. I would wish for money which I would invest so my kids could go to college, I could open a bookstore, etc. Hmmm... not sure about the third. Maybe that my family has perfect health. I'm sick of being sick and the constant worry about cancer and stuff is nerve wracking.

  4. Wow, glad you ended up really liking this! I'm alway pleased when I read a book expecting it to be fluffy but then it turns out to be much deeper than that.

Hmm, if I had three wishes, one would be to see some family members who live a really long way away; another would be to have a sizable house that would have a big library and enough room for my family, should I have one when I'm older; and the third would be to get good grades and get into a good university that I like, because that's what's stressing me out at the moment.

Thanks for the awesome giveaway! :)

  7. Thanks for the review! I'm definitely looking forward to reading this one. :)

If I had three wishes...hmmm, what a hard one. I think I would wish for enough funds for me to take care of my family, and myself, to be a bestselling author, and to get my chance to direct a film.

  8. If I had three wishes I would wish for the ability to go where I pleased just by thinking of being there~ Long happy lives for everyone I love~ and to be a master craftsman, because there are so many things I'd love to make that I just don't know how!

Enough money to live without having to worry about anything.

I'd reserve the third...not sure what I'd use it for yet.
