Book Description:

“Gossip Girl meets VC Andrews in this contemporary family saga. Love, lies, and betrayal become the new normal when Anna enters the world of Jack and Lucy Kyser.” –Magan Vernon, international bestselling author of The Only Exception

Three bad things I learned this year:
-People you trust lie, even parents.
-That hot guy, the one who's totally into you, he might not be the one.
-Things are not always how they appear.

Three good things I learned this year:
-Best friends are always there for you, even when they're far away.
-That other hot guy, the one who remembers your birthday, he just might be the one.
-Oh, and things are not always how they appear.

When her best friend moves at the start of senior year, Anna Sanders resolves to keep her head down and follow her plans through graduation. Until Lucy, a beautiful, mysterious girl, and Jack, her gorgeous twin brother, transfer to Anna's school.

The two draw Anna into their rich, extravagant life on the Gulf Coast with their distant, single father. Anna can't resist falling for Jack, even after he pushes her away.

Just when she's finally learning to be strong, Anna uncovers their father's closely guarded secret and is pulled back--this time even closer. His secret could change all their lives.

Excerpt:
Falling in Love Changes Everything…

“C’mon,” Julian said, helping me stand. “Let’s blow off this party and catch a movie or go to Scoops. This isn’t our scene.”

I shook my head. “I just really want to go home.” The tears were trying to start again. “Can I just go home now?”

“Sure,” he said, holding my cheek. I took a limping step, and he stopped. “Does it hurt to walk?”

My leg was throbbing. I nodded, looking down, and before I realized what was happening, he was lifting me in his arms.

“Julian, wait,” I held his shoulders. “I’m too heavy!”

“It’s okay,” he said, walking on. I sighed and leaned my head against his shoulder. I didn’t feel like fighting. Gentle pressure against my temple, and he’d kissed me. “You’ll get over this,” I heard him say under his breath.

My Thoughts and Review:
I always enjoy Leigh's novels. They are always so much fun to read and are a  breath of fresh air. I was super excited when I was asked to be a part of her blog tour and eager to read her new series. I just knew it was going to be a great read and was pretty sure that after reading the first book I would be eagerly awaiting the release of the next installment. Turns out, I wasn't wrong in the least.

I have loved all of Leigh's books in the past and have always admired how original and even emotional they can be. I wasn't sure what to expect from this one since it says that fans of Gossip Girl would love it, I never having watched Gossip Girl (gasp, I know!) knew that this was more than likely going to read like a drama and I was up for the challenge.

I love this genre, I really do and I love that even though a lot has already been done in it, it is still super easy to find original story lines and characters and Leigh's latest book gave me just that.

I have to confess, while I liked Jack, I loved Julian for the very beginning and I was rooting for him the whole entire way.

I never did fall in love with Anna, she bothered me at times and I couldn't understand why she refused to see what was right in front of her and choose instead to go back to a person that repeatedly pulled her in and then pushed her away. Why torment yourself that way and put up with being treated like that? I just didn't understand it and while I loved the story, it did get old over time. I know there was a reason for it all but I couldn't help it, I just wanted more for Anna and that more was starting her right in the face in an adorable little package just waiting for her to say yes.

Leigh did a great job with this even if Anna annoyed me at times because, let's face it, when you are young and in love you don't always make the very best choices and we aren't always wise to what hurts us and what it best for us.

I want to see where Anna, Jack and Julian's story goes from here because I really do want them all to find their HEA, I am so glad I won't have to wait long for the next book to be out.

  6. My favorite vacation is relaxing with bags full of books. No interruptions, no telephones. Just my books and me. Getting lost in the characters and their stories.

  7. I've heard great things about Leigh T. Moore's books. I often get annoyed with the main female protagonist in romances especially when they do the back and forth. Either they keep going back to a boy that is bad for them or they fight their feelings for a boy that is good for them. So annoying.
