Book Description:
Sometimes in love, you choose wrong…

Eight years ago, Lennon lost his heart to Rain, and suddenly she’s back, all grown up and sexy as hell. At a sorority party, he convinces himself that outbidding every other guy for a body shot from Rain is for charity. But he knows better. He doesn’t want any guy, except him, tarnishing the memory of the little girl he proposed to in fifth grade.

Jinx loves Lennon and is past ready for him to make his move. With his sexual prowess, she worries why he hasn’t made any advances. She fears she is losing him, and the only way to keep him is to overcome her past and give him what he desires.

Rain knows Lennon is trouble. If she couldn’t say no to the gangly boy asking her to skateboard off some roof, how will she refuse Lennon’s seductive powers now that he is a man? Rain has many reasons to resist his charm. He has a girlfriend, he’s moving to LA with her, and Rain has no intention to march in the long parade of Lennon Tyler conquests.

Now, Lennon must choose. Someone has to lose, and that person could be him.

My Thoughts and Review:
Even though I loved Lennon's Jinx, I was very apprehensive starting this one. Not because I didn't think Myers could deliver but because I knew this would be an emotional read for me and more than likely make me very angry and very sad at times. I love Lennon and I want to see him happy but the thing is, I loved Jinx too in the first book and I became invested in their relationship and I was rooting for them the whole way through the first book.

To know that this one has someone from Lennon's past in it, someone that could destroy everything Lennon and Jinx worked so hard to build..well, I knew that it was going to be tough to read. Tough to love Lennon as much as I once did. I didn't want a love triangle, I wanted Lennon with Jinx and she with him.

I was prepared for Myers to rip my heart out and for me to ultimately hate Lennon for it in the end.

Poor screwed up bad boy Lennon. I want to hate him, I really do but alas, I do not.  I wish I could say I loved everything about this but the truth is, parts of it made me sad. I really liked Rain but like I mentioned before, I fell in love with Jinx in the first book and I was sad that they both made so many mistakes along the way that destroyed their relationship, their friendship the way it did. It wasn't right.

Even though I was rooting for Jinx, Myers made me like Rain as well. She wasn't a goodie goodie but she was a really good person and he did love Lennon so I couldn't fault her for that.

This story was good it really was and even though I didn't love everything that happened in it, it did make me see Lennon in a whole new light and parts of me loved him even more for it and other parts wanted to give him a good talking to.

Overall it was a great look into Lennon and I really am curious what the future holds for him.

  1. I am so wary of love triangles, especially later in a series when I'm already attached to a couple so I can see why you were a bit reluctant to read this. I admire you for going through with it, knowing myself, I would have given up
But the series overall sounds interesting.
    Lovely review, Ali!

  3. Is there cheating at all in this book Ali? It kind of sounds like that might be a possibility even if he and Jinx aren't technically together if or when he's with Rain. In my head if he and Jinx are supposed to be together, it's still cheating ;-) This sounds like it was a really challenging read for you loving Lennon and Jinx the way you do, but I'm glad you were able to find some things about it you enjoyed even if everything didn't go the way you wanted it to.

  5. I'm kind of confused about this one and the first one and the characters. Who is who and what not. I'm not sure about this love triangle but I do think I have the first book on my kindle so maybe one day I'll read it and we'll see how it goes.

  8. I'm not looking forward to another love triangle, but I admire you for going ahead with this despite your apprehension. Maybe I'll read the first book since the LT doesn't seem to pop up until this installment. Good lord that cover is gorgeous! :-)

  10. I have the first book, but I am kind of apprehensive about starting this. I know I would feel the same way about the couples, even though it winds up okay. I am such a HEA junkie that I have a hard time with books that don't end that way. Guess I need to get my head out of the clouds. Thanks for the great review.
