It’s a chance to share News. A post to recap the past week, showcase books and things we have received and share news about what is coming up for the week on our blog.
I can't believe August is officially here, where has the summer gone?
I am so excited for this month and I can't even tell you why other than I always get excited when school is just around the corner. The shopping! I love the shopping. It was always my most favorite thing about back to school, okay, it might have been my only likable thing about going back to school other than seeing all those friends you hadn't seen all summer once again.
There is just something fun about all the new clothes and school supplies. I love the smell of a new box of crayons (strange right?)
Anyways, I finally got some books read this past week so I don't feel like such a huge failure for the month of July. I think in total I read 24 books total, which was actually better than I thought I had done. I think one was a novella though so really 23. Not bad considering about 4 of them were this last week alone.
Here is to hoping August is a little kinder to me reading wise.

I wasn't as good with downloading books this week, darn Edelweiss and Harper Collins for all their wonderful books!
Of course I don't really mean that, what I mean to say is, THANK YOU as always for giving me the opportunity to read and review all of your wonderful stories. :)
Here is what I picked up:
(I have no idea why most of the covers aren't showing up!)
(I have no idea why most of the covers aren't showing up!)
Yeah I try to avoid Edelweiss but seeing that everyone got Liars Inc. and The Last Time We Say Goodbye I'm finding it really hard to stay away! Great new books! Enjoy!
ReplyDeleteThanks Jennifer, I wish I had the willpower to avoid it. ;)
DeleteWow, fantastic haul! I hope you'll enjoy Liars, Inc. and The Last Time We Say Goodbye because I'm really excited for those. Happy reading!
ReplyDeleteThanks, I really hope they are good as well. :)
DeleteI cannot believe it's August either. I mean wow. My classes will start soon and I have so much to do. I hope you'll enjoy shopping. You've got some amazing books this week too. Great post :)
ReplyDeleteThanks so much Tanja!
DeleteCongrats on all your books!
ReplyDeleteThank you!
DeleteLOL I LOVE new school supplies. I'm not in school now but I seriously loved that and still love a good trip to the office supply store. All those crisp edges and post its and pretty pens.lol
ReplyDeleteYes! I really do too and I love new pens, I have this weird thing with loving all different kinds of pens. :)
DeleteOh I don't know any of your books but I'm curious to read your reviews. happy reading!
ReplyDeleteThanks Melliane!
DeleteYeah, I used to love back to school shopping, but it's just not the same anymore. No buying crayons here .... :(
ReplyDeleteI saw all of Harper Collins books on Edelweiss, but non of them really interested me enough. Maybe that'll change in a week or a month.
Yeah not looking forward to those days either Christy. :(
DeleteOmg. I LOVE smelling a new box of crayons :') Especially if it's Crayola...
ReplyDeleteHarperCollins just spoils us on EW. I grabbed a bunch of titles too but didn't grab all the ones that caught my attention since I am not completely sure I'd enjoy them. With all the reading I need to do for September, I am trying to hold back a little with the downloading and requesting .-.
Fantastic Haul, Ali and I hope you have a great week!! :)
Rashika @ The Social Potato
Yes a fellow crayon sniffer, :P I really shouldn't have either Rashika.
DeleteYou had a great book week! And 24 books is AMAZING!
ReplyDeleteThanks Candace!
DeleteI am so excited to hear what you think about all these wonderful books! :D Especially Liars, Inc as it sounds really intriguing + right up my alley. :D (It's weird though...when I go on EW and search for it, there's no request button. Oh well!)
ReplyDeleteThanks for sharing and happy reading Ali! <3
~ Zoe @ The Infinite To-Read Shelf
That is weird, I wonder if they already took it down?
DeleteI remember as a teen being so excited about having new clothes to wear for school. It wasn't a huge amount...I think we had a budget of $100 each and even in the mid-80s that didn't buy much! But it was still fun to have new stuff to wear.
ReplyDeleteGlad I am not the only one. :)
DeleteThat's great you got a lot of books read this past month. Back to school shopping was always my favorite part of starting school too.
ReplyDeleteThanks! :D
DeleteYou got some of the same ones I did. I hope we both enjoy our books and thanks for stopping by, as always! :)
ReplyDeleteTressa @ Wishful Endings
Thanks Tressa!
DeleteAs a child I loved new school supplies. I loathe shopping though. I am a run in, get what it is I need, eyes straight ahead in and out type of gal. My oldest is like my MIL she loves to browse and goes to the mall on purpose!
ReplyDeleteI do avoid the mall but I love looking on other stores. I am not a huge shoppers although I use to be in high school like most girls were.
DeleteIt was awesome Heidi!
ReplyDeleteI am really excited about Liars Inc and A Wicked Thing. I grabbed both of those too and can't wait to dive in. Happy reading! I hope you have a great August. :)
