Waiting on Wednesday is a weekly meme hosted by Jill at Breaking the Spine. It is a chance to share those new releases were are super anxious to get our hands on and read.
I only just recently read Red Rising and adored it, way more than I was expecting too so of course I am now eagerly awaiting the next book Golden Son. I love how quickly I was wrapped up in the idea of the different colors and stations and even more so with Darrow himself. His battle was a long one and a hard one and after the ending of book one, I can't see what is in store for him next.
Release Date: January 13, 2015
Book Description:
With shades of The Hunger Games, Ender’s Game, and Game of Thrones, debut author Pierce Brown’s genre-defying epic Red Rising hit the ground running and wasted no time becoming a sensation. Golden Son continues the stunning saga of Darrow, a rebel forged by tragedy, battling to lead his oppressed people to freedom from the overlords of a brutal elitist future built on lies. Now fully embedded among the Gold ruling class, Darrow continues his work to bring down Society from within. A life-or-death tale of vengeance with an unforgettable hero at its heart, Golden Son guarantees Pierce Brown’s continuing status as one of fiction’s most exciting new voices.
Have you tried this dystopian yet? If so, what did you think of it?

DeleteMust read Red Rising soon!
ReplyDeleteYou really should, I bet it surprised you. :)
DeleteI still need to read Red Rising Ali!!!! I haven't read a single lukewarm review for it, they've all been glowing and I definitely need to make time for it:) Hope this one is equally as good!
ReplyDeleteThanks Jenny, I hope so too and I really do want you to read this series, I think you will like it. :)
DeleteI've heard so many wonderful things about Red Rising! I need to read it soon. Hope you enjoy it (the cover is once again stunning!)
ReplyDeleteThe covers are definitely fabulous. ;)
DeleteI don't read too many dystopians, but I hope you enjoy reading this one!
ReplyDeleteMy WoW
This is a great place to start. ;)
DeleteI have yet to read the first book, Ali although I have the first book on my e-reader!
ReplyDeleteI hope you will enjoy this one! :)
I am glad you have the first book and I hope you decide to read it, it really is a great read.
DeleteI haven't tried it but I do so love my dystopian novels. Thanks Kindlemom I think this one sounds good!
ReplyDeleteThanks for stopping by Debbie!
DeleteI've been hearing all kinds of great stuff about the first book! Thinking of picking it up but my TBR pile isn't looking very nice :S
ReplyDeleteLOL I completely understand about the TBR pile. ;)
DeleteI've had both e-copy and audio of Red Rising for ages now and I'm so SO embarassed that they're still on my tbr pile. (It's a huge pile, let me tell you). I've heard great things though, so I'll probably get to it soon now that I have more time for audio.
ReplyDeleteI am pretty positive that you will love it Maja. ;)
DeleteI really enjoyed Red Rising, even though it took me a while to really get into it and finishing it but I'm looking forward to this ond and I love the cover. I think I also have a problem with male authors for some reason, the way they write doesn't suit me, but Brown did! Great pick! :)
ReplyDeleteI have a hard time with that as well sometimes Emma and I have no idea why either.
DeleteI haven't read it yet, I don't know why, but I have a feelin that I wouldn't like it as much as other readers did. :(
ReplyDeleteDid Tanja read it? I was thinking one of you did but maybe not.
DeleteIt seems like I haven't really heard much about this series. I did see a negative review of the first the other day but maybe I should look deeper.
ReplyDeleteDefinitely look deeper, this is one you would like Candace.
DeleteYES, YES, YES! I cannot wait!!!
ReplyDelete*does happy dance*
DeleteI haven't read the first one but I am curious! I've heard good things.
ReplyDeleteIt is a good one, I hope you consider it. :)
DeleteDude, I was just flipping out on Facebook and Twitter because this is on NG but not "available". So freaking lame. I NEED this book!
ReplyDeleteWhat? That is crazy!
DeleteSounds like an interesting book! Glad dystopian is still doing well.
ReplyDeleteThis is a great dystopian!
DeleteI have not read Red Rising yet, but glad you loved it and waiting patiently for book 2 :)
ReplyDeleteYou should try it.
DeleteI liked, but didn't love Red Rising. I'm interested to see where he goes with the story though since we might actually be getting the space battles I thought the first one would be about. I got so excited when I saw this on Netgalley this morning, but it was only a teaser.
ReplyDeleteSorry you didn't love it, maybe this one will be better. I can't believe we can't request it yet, Netgalley is such a tease!
DeleteThat's awesome you enjoyed Red Rising! I've heard the writing style takes some time to get used to, so I've been a bit hesitant to start it. I think I'll try to read it before Golden Son comes out, though :)
ReplyDeleteIt is a little different but still really great!
DeleteOh what a beautiful cover! I didn't know about it
ReplyDelete:D
DeleteHaven't heard of this one yet. Nice pick!
ReplyDeleteWow this is the first time I'm seeing this cover! Sweet!! :-)
ReplyDelete(Sorry for comment bombing you, work has been bonkers and I'm catching up on reading/commenting I missed out on)
No worries Lauren! And yeah, the cover is great!
