Book Description:
Hollie Porter is the chairwoman of Generation Disillusioned: at twenty-five years old, she’s saddled with a job she hates, a boyfriend who’s all wrong for her, and a vexing inability to say no. She’s already near her breaking point, so when one caller too many kicks the bucket during Hollie’s 911 shift, she cashes in the Sweethearts’ Spa & Stay gift certificate from her dad and heads to Revelation Cove, British Columbia. One caveat: she’s going solo. Any sweethearts will have to be found on site.

Hollie hopes to find her beloved otters in the wilds of the Great White North, but instead she’s providing comic relief for staff and guests alike. Even Concierge Ryan, a former NHL star with bad knees and broken dreams, can’t stop her from stumbling from one (mis)adventure to another. Just when Hollie starts to think that a change of venue doesn’t mean a change in circumstances, the island works its charm and she starts to think she might have found the rejuvenation she so desperately desires. But then an uninvited guest crashes the party, forcing her to step out of the discomfort zone where she dwells and save the day … and maybe even herself in the process.

If I could only write one sentence to describe the awesomeness that is this book, this is what I would say about it. It is so freaking funny that I seriously just couldn't get enough of it, because, after all, who doesn't love to laugh so much that your cheeks hurt from smiling?

Seriously, this book was just hilarious and so so good. It took me completely by surprise with how much I loved it. In fact, I stayed up until one in the morning to finish it because I just couldn't put it down, it was that great.

This was exactly what I needed, when I needed it and I really didn't want it to end. I absolutely loved Hollie. I mean, I might have a girl crush on her, loved her. She was amazing and so strong even though she didn't know it. Her thoughts, her antics she got herself into, her willingness to forgive and love and just everything, I loved it, I loved her.

The romance was perfect. A slow build up that while predictable, was so fetching good, you just didn't care.

In short, I had a blast reading this and loved every single minute of sleep I lost because of it. I wouldn’t take it back and I certainly don't regret it because it was so much fun.

I know the title is a little strange but I promise if you read this, it will make sense and you will love it as much as I did. This is one book I can truly and honestly say I am so glad I gave it a chance, I almost didn't and that would have been such a shame to miss out on this author’s writing. In fact, I wouldn't hesitate to buy anything from her again in the future. I have a feeling she will be on my auto buy list.

  2. Wow. I kinda love Hollie already. It takes gumption to go to a couple retreat by yourself. I'm torn between putting this book on a wishlist or just one-clicking it, LOL.

  8. Eliza Gordon here (aka Jenn Sommersby) ... THANK YOU for reading and loving this book! I'm so glad you laughed--that was the goal! I'm so relieved to see that people are getting the sense of humor. And even though we know there will be a HEA for our main girl, it's fun to watch her go for it. And who knows ... life isn't done with Hollie. She's only a youngster!

    Thank you again! <3
