Book Description:
A dangerous adventure to save a distant world Ryen is just a normal guy trying to do his job. Unfortunately, that job includes trying to save his distant world on the brink of disaster.

Ryen is on a mission to Earth to find the answers to his distant world's most critical questions. While searching the Yucatan Peninsula for a mythic figure-a savior-who would live a perfect life and ultimately die to save their souls, Ryen meets Savannah, a beautiful woman hiding a painful past. On their dangerous adventures together through the untamed jungles of Mexico, he can't help but fall in love with her. As his time runs out, Ryen must decide if he is willing to give up everything he has ever known and loved to stay on Earth with Savannah.

The Masters, a powerful clan of corrupt leaders, are plotting to take back Earth, the sacred planet, from the humans. Ryen and Savannah are thrust into the middle of The Masters' plot.

Fantasy can be so hit or miss with me, throw in aliens and even more so. So even though I loved the premises of this, I was still very apprehensive going in to this. I had no idea having never read the author before what I would be in for.

Would the world be well developed? Would it be too sci fi? Would I connect with the characters and fall in love with them and more importantly, would the world the author created be real and believable?

These questions are such important ones because the answers could make or break a story for me in any genre but especially this one.

Thankfully the author created a beautiful detailed rich world that was easy to follow, easy to picture and even believable.

The storyline was engaging and the characters likable. Their love story was extremely swoon worthy and I loved all the tender moments between Anna and Ryen.

I am not going to lie, this took me by surprise with how quickly I was able to fall into the world and story that Bryant created. It isn't always easy to hook me in this genre but the author did it beautifully.

  2. I'm glad you enjoyed The Others. Anymore, it seems like it's nearly impossible to find well done standalones. Does the story take place in the Yucatan - like an jungle adventure? I'm excited by the fact you fell into the world so easily. Thanks for sharing, Ali :)

  3. Fantasy with Aliens? Interesting. I love when a book I'm slightly worried about completely surprises me and I end up for more engaged than I thought I would be when I started. Yay for a swoon-worthy romance!

  4. My feelings on Fantasy and aliens are similar to yours, so although you liked this one, you didn't love it.

    1. Hi Megan! If you give it a shot, I hope you like it. Reviews of my book are always the same- "I thought I would hate it and I ended up really liking it." I like to think that this is sci-fi for people who don't like sci-fi. :)

    2. Melliane,
If it helps, I call it sci-fi for people who don't like sci-fi. Sci-fi light? It is more about the love story and the adventure than anything else. :)
