Mayfair Moon Blog Tour, Guest Post and Book Review!

The Mayfair Moon –
Darkwoods Trilogy #1
By J.A. Redmerski

Genre: Paranormal YA

Book Description:
After a nightmarish encounter with a werewolf, seventeen-year-old Adria Dawson loses her sister, but gains the love of a mysterious young man and his legendary family.

Strange and tragic things begin to happen in the small town of Hallowell, Maine: residents come down with an unexplainable ‘illness’ and some disappear. In the midst of everything, Isaac Mayfair is adamant about keeping Adria safe, even from her sister whom he has warned her to stay away from.

As unspeakable secrets unfold all around Adria, impossible choices become hers to bear. Ultimately, no matter what path she takes, her life and the lives of those she loves will be in peril. As she learns about the werewolf world she also learns why her place in it will change the destinies of many.

About the Author:

J.A. Redmerski is a Contemporary Fantasy and YA writer - author of THE MAYFAIR MOON and DIRTY EDEN. She’s a mother, werewolf & zombie fanatic, book addict and a happy hermit obsessed with the Universe. Oh, and AMC's "The Walking Dead".
Jessica started her first novel at the age of thirteen and has been writing something ever since. Generally, she loves characters in life and on paper. She pays attention to people, especially those whose personalities make them different from the rest of us: the drug addict roaming the Laundromat that talks to himself, the young, inattentive mother in the park with the meanest kid on the playground - (the entire cast of 'Swamp People') - characters fascinate Jessica and she hopes that it shows in her literary work.

Some authors that inspire Jessica are Neil Gaiman, Cormac McCarthy, Max Brooks, Anne Rice, J.K. Rowling, Richard Matheson, William R. Forstchen, Carrie Ryan, Stephenie Meyer and Lisa Smedman.

Guest Post:
10 Things You Don’t Know About Zia

In J.A. Redmerski’s debut novel, THE MAYFAIR MOON, one of Adria’s best friends, Zia, is more than a spiky-haired outspoken girl whose beauty sometimes makes Adria feel plain. Zia may be a young werewolf, but as a human, she has an even darker past.

(Zia portrayed—with longer hair—as Jessica Stam)

Here are 10 things you didn’t know about Zia, told by a Praverian, who, due to the clandestine nature of Praverians, cannot be named at this time. For now, we will refer to her simply as ‘G’.

  1. Zia was the eldest sister to six siblings; four sisters and two brothers. All of them are dead.
  2. Zia’s absolute favorite singer is an underground musician from Evansville, Indiana named Dax Riggs. He was in bands such as Acid Bath, Agents of Oblivion and Deadboy and the Elephantmen before going solo.
  3. Growing up, Zia’s life was a hundred times more tumultuous than Adria Dawson’s. She spent two years of her teenage life living in Los Angeles and struggling to make it in the modeling industry. Los Angeles did not treat her kindly.
  4. Zia claims that she doesn’t know who the werewolf was who Sired her, but some believe she’s just ashamed to admit the truth.
  5. Zia is a very talented artist and even has a secret account on DeviantART, but she’ll never tell anyone her screen name because she says, “My art is my getaway and where I can be someone I’m not, yet completely be myself.”
  6. Zia is an Aquarius.
  7. When Zia was eight, she nearly drowned in Smith Mountain Lake in Virginia. CPR was performed by another swimmer, or else she would have died.
  8. Zia loves shoes. Currently, she owns more than one hundred pairs of shoes and buys a new pair at least twice a week.
  9. Zia is of Italian and French descent.
  10. The death of Zia’s youngest sister was Zia’s breaking point. After her sister died, Zia was never the same.

My Thoughts and Review:

Absolutely loved it!

That sentence alone would be the one I would pick if I could only write one sentence for my review.

I absolutely loved this book!

And that is saying something because, as I have said numerous times before, werewolf books and I do not always get along. I buy them, I read them, I want to like them, but very rarely do I really enjoy them. Even the popular ones that everyone raves about.

Yep, we have a fascinating love hate relationship, werewolf books and I.

So for me to say that The Mayfair Moon completely captivated my attention and made it extremely hard for me to get anything else done, because hey, I didn't want to put it down! Is definitely saying something about the writing skills of Redmerski.

This book had me turning the pages after, well, after the very first page. I wanted more and yes, I was sucked into Adira's (love that name!) world.

I honestly can't even tell you what was so fascinating about this book, it wasn't any one thing, it was just everything. The characters, the plot, the mystery, the action, the romance. I just really enjoyed it all. The writing was excellent and everything flowed together so nicely for me.

To be honest I am amazed that not only is this book self published (editing is amazing) but that this is her debut novel as well.

I will definitely be picking up the second book in the series because I really can't wait to read it. I have a feeling that I will be dropping everything that day to get it read.

I give this one a very solid 4.5 Stars!!
