Book Description:
All she wants is a home, but can she find one...UNDER DIFFERENT STARS

Kricket Hollowell is normally not one to wish upon stars; she believes they’re rarely in her favor. Well versed at dodging caseworkers from Chicago’s foster care system, the past few years on her own have made Kricket an expert at the art of survival and blending in. With her 18th birthday fast approaching, she dreams of the day when she can stop running and find what her heart needs most: a home.

Trey Allairis hates Earth and doubts that anyone from his world can thrive here. What he’s learning of Kricket and her existence away from her true home only confirms his theory. But, when he and Kricket lie together under the stars of Ethar, counting them all may be easier than letting her go.

Kyon Ensin’s secrets number the stars; he knows more about Kricket's gifts than anyone and plans to possess her because of them. He also knows she’s more valuable than any fire in the night sky. He’ll move the heavens and align them all in order to make her his own.

When everything in their world can be broken, will Kricket rely upon love to save her under different stars?

This genre is not something I read a lot of which is bizarre because I love watching movies and shows with a sci fi theme but throw a book into the mix and more often than not, I won't even give it a second glance.

But when this showed up on my doorstep and I saw the gorgeous cover and the blurb, I knew I was making one of my rare exceptions and giving it a chance. Yes I can be petty and shallow like that.

But oh goodness how this story completely captured my attention and held it. I was completely under the author's spell and fascinated with the world and people she had created.

I loved feisty headstrong Kricket from the word hello and that love just grew as her character and story evolved.

Trey was just as fabulous, and Jax and Wayra stole the show. There is something to be said about secondary characters that you want to know and love every bit as much as the main characters.

I seriously went into this expecting nothing and getting so very much in return. I loved it and can't wait for book two to be out. I know there are so many more adventured for Trey, Kricket, Jax, and Wayra and I can't wait to take the journey with them.

  12. Everyone is mad gushing about this book so far and as you and I are alike when it comes to sci-fi books so the fact that you loved this is a good thing for me. Gah! I'm kicking myself for not grabbing this when I had the chance!!

  13. I actually feel similarly but about PNR tv shows. I very rarely start a PNR tv show and continue watching it just because I'd rather read PNR books. I am glad though that the one time you made an exception, it was worth it!

    Lovely review, Ali!! :)

  18. Oh, yes, the cover caught my attention too, most definitely.
Sometimes it's awesome to go in with little to no expectations, I think that's when the read really has a chance to shine, you know? I end feeling guilty when I go into a read with expectations, because I feel like I might deny it the chance to actually do its thing, you know? I'm glad you went in with no expectations and enjoyed it this much! I might give it a try myself, because that cover, lol! I can't resist good reviews from people whose opinions I respect, and a yummy cover too :D

  26. Great review, glad you enjoyed this one so much. I watch more sci-fi shows and movies, but then seem to avoid sci-fi books. I'm not sure why though. Maybe I should give this one a go.
