Waiting on Wednesday is a weekly meme hosted by Jill at Breaking the Spine. It is a chance to share those new releases were are super anxious to get our hands on and read.
It has been way too long since I have read a book by Schroeder and I really like the way this one sounds, quite different from some of her others and I actually like how simple the cover is.
Release Date: July 28, 2015 (Scholastic)
Book Description:
What do you do with your last day on earth?
Just over twenty-four hours are left until an asteroid strikes North America, and for Emerson and everyone else who didn't leave, the world will end. But Emerson's world already ended when she ran away from home. Since then, she has lived on the streets, relying on her wits and on her friend Vince to help her find places to sleep and food to eat.
The city's quieter now that most people are gone, and no one seems to know what to do as the end approaches. But then Emerson and Vince meet Carl, who tells them he has been granting people's wishes -- and gives them his wallet full of money.
Suddenly, this last day seems full of possibility. Emerson and Vince can grant a lot of wishes in one last day -- maybe even their own.

Oh, this one is has fantastic promise! It wasn't on my radar today, so thank you for this wonderful post <3 Happy Wednesday!
ReplyDeleteSounds interesting, I'd read this!
ReplyDeleteThis one sounds absolutely amazing Ali! It kind of reminds me of We All Looked Up and Life as We Knew It, both of which I really liked. Definitely going to have to give it a try! Thanks for sharing! ♥
ReplyDeleteI still need to read both of those. Hopefully I like this one and then I can read those as well. ;)
DeleteYou know, I've never picked up a book by this author because I was afraid of verse novels, but I recently read my first verse book and it was so good! And I know Candace loves this author, so I'll have to check it out!
ReplyDeleteShe does love this author and she is amazing a verse, Very beautiful!
DeleteI like the sound of this one, Ali! The end of days with the hope of wishes granted makes this sound touching for sure. I've yet to this author, but now I'm going to check her out. Thanks Ali :)
ReplyDeleteI really hope you do, her writing is beautiful!
DeleteThis one is new to me. What's with the asteroid and end of the world stories recently? There are quite a few out there. I hope you enjoy reading this one! Thanks for stopping by My WoW.
ReplyDeleteThere are and sometimes that scares me like, do they all know something I don't? :P
DeleteOoh, this one sounds a lot like We All Looked Up by Tommy Wallach. I am intrigued. Great pick!
ReplyDeleteThanks! I had no idea there was another book with a similar premises. I will have to look it up!
DeleteI absolutely love the concept of the last day on earth. I'm super curious to see what the characters will do with their last days. Great pick! :)
ReplyDeleteI LOVED LOVED LOVED this book! It's not as depressing as most because it's all about hope and doing good things for random people. It's more feel good I guess. Plus the book is dedicated to me and my friend Sara. But I loved because it was good, not because of my name being in it. ;)
ReplyDeleteI wish I could have joined the tour for it but I ran out of time! So cool that it is dedicated to you!!
DeleteAhh yes I missed the tour sign up for this one, but I am reading it soon.
ReplyDeleteGlad you'll be reading it as well!
DeleteThis does sound different than her usual. Curios to read this, thanks for introducing me to it!
ReplyDeleteThanks for stopping by! :D
DeleteThis sounds interesting! I haven't read anything from this author but I plan to since it's on Scribd. I also love the premise of this one, it kinda sounds familiar but end of the world themes always intrigue me. Thanks for sharing Kindlemom!
ReplyDeleteOh I will have to check it out.
DeleteI've never heard of this one before but it sounds really good. I absolutely love the cover too.
ReplyDeleteI kind of like it as well.
DeleteOMG what a premise Kindlemom. I'm pre-ordering this one!!
ReplyDeleteThanks
Yay!
DeleteWhat a gorgeous cover! So simple and eye-cathing. I haven't read anything of hers yet, but I've always wanted to.
ReplyDeleteOh you should, they are always so beautifully written Maja, I know you would appreciate them. :)
DeleteOh, how intriguing! This does sound like a good one.
ReplyDeleteI'm hoping so!
DeleteI'd don't remember seeing this one before but it sounds really interesting! Adding to my TBR now :)
ReplyDeleteYay! Glad you are adding it!
DeleteOh. Have heard good things about her. Hope you enjoy!
ReplyDeleteThanks Anna!
DeleteThat's a hard question. The honest answer is I have no idea what I'd do if I knew I'd be dead in twenty-four hours. :-/
ReplyDeleteAnna from Elements of Writing
I know right? Spend as much time with family as I could would be my top choice!
DeleteThis one sounds very interesting. Great pick. If the world was ending, I would spend my time with my family.
ReplyDeleteI would too, for sure!
DeleteWhat's with the end of the world stuff everywhere? Anyway, I'm a huge fan. Huge. :)
ReplyDeleteI really am too although I do get tired of it sometimes but when they are well done and unique, I can't resist them. :P
DeleteI love the cover! But, really, is it becoming a trend to write titles without capital letters on books???
ReplyDeleteI think so. I have been noticing it a lot as well. Sort of bugs me. ;)
DeleteOh that's a new one to me but it sounds really nice! thanks for sharing!
ReplyDeleteThanks for stopping by!
DeleteOoooh, I want to try this one.
ReplyDeleteYay!
Deletewow, great pick!! the cover is art :D
ReplyDeleteIt is a pretty cover.
DeleteThis sounds good. PLUS I'd never heard of it, so yay! Great pick ;)
ReplyDeleteThanks Jessica!
DeleteInteresting premise..you have thinking about what we would do.
ReplyDeleteHuh. I'm really curious about the premise for this one (where does everyone else go? is interplanetary travel happening? what value does money have on the last day on Earth, anyway? i.e., does it lose its value entirely? who's left to collect it? or is there like crazy inflation?). Those are the places my brain has gone, so maybe I'll check this one out, too! :) Anyway, hadn't heard anything about this one yet, so I'm glad you wrote about it.
ReplyDeleteLOL! I love all your very valid thought provoking questions!!
DeleteThe premise sounds very interesting and unique-although one has to wonder would money even be worth something on the last day of earth? It also sounds like it will have a very sad ending. I will probably try to read it someday though-thanks for sharing :)
ReplyDeleteI'm thinking it will as well Lorna but I think it will be worth it. ;)
