The Sunday Post

The Sunday Post is a weekly meme hosted by Kimba @ Caffeinated Book Reviewer.
~this meme was inspired in part by ~ In My Mailbox~
It’s a chance to share News. A post to recap the past week, showcase books and things we have received and share news about what is coming up for the week on our blog.

Happy Sunday everyone!
Another week of summer has gone by and this weekend we finally had some relief from the scorching heat. A storm moved in and while it didn't provide any moisture it is bring the temperatures back down to a manageable mid 90's. Way better than the 100 plus we have been getting.

I got my new laptop and I must say, I adore it. I am still getting use to it but so far I am doing well with Windows 8.1. It wasn't as bad nor as scary as I imagined it to be. The hardest part was getting my files all transferred over and Calibre, that was a chore! I didn't realize just how many books I had until I tried to transfer them all over.

I am not even going to tell you how many because it is crazy. Even my husband raised an eyebrow at me when it saw the sheer number of files. What is worst is that I haven't' even read a third of them. :(  I might have a book buying problem. :P

But is one is going to be addicted to something, might as well be books right?

This week on the blog this is what I featured in case you missed anything:

My books this week:

Another quieter week for me but I am glad because I just haven't had as much time to read this summer as I had planned so the less books I add, the better.

As always a huge thank you to the authors and publishers.

  1. I think we all have a book buying problem. I have a whole bookcase in the garage of unread books, plus random books in other places around the house.

  2. I totally forgot to put Storms of Lazarus in my haul! *headdesk* I must add it the next time. Anyhow I saw you're already reading it and I cannot wait to see what you think of it. I'll be reading it soon. Also I'm so glad that you love your new computer. Windows is really easy to navigate :) Great post :)

    1. Thanks Debbie! I have been so tempted to go the Apple route but so far I have resisted. I do love the new laptop so for now, I am still sticking with it. :)

  4. You always have a busy blogging week! So jealous. I'm just trying to catch up whenever I can, so blogging/commenting has been sporadic. Anyway, I hope you'll have a wonderful week, Ali.

  5. I got a new computer a few months ago and was really afraid Windows 8.1 would be difficult to understand, but so far I actually am liking the system. In the beginning it's a bit difficult to get the hang of it, but once you get used to it, it's actually pretty neat.
We've got some warm days here as well and I hope it will get a bit cooler this week, I have no idea how much the temperatures are in fahrenheit though as we work with Celcius here in Europe.

    1. It is different but for the most part I am figuring it out, of course now that I said that I am sure something will come up now that will completely baffle me. :)

  6. Well Phobic is a creepy cover! YAY for the new computer! I'm confused though, you save all your books on your computer? I just have mine on my kindle and it stores in cloud or wherever.
Glad you've had some relief from the heat. We don't get in the 100's, but we've had high 80's and mid 90's. Mid 90's are definitely too hot for me!

    1. Yep I do because I buy them from more places than Amazon so it is just easier to have a list of them all organized in one place.
Have you heard of Calibre? It is so easy to use, I love it!

  8. Definitely agree. Nothing better to be addicted to than books, they may hurt your bank account but they won't hurt your health (although that is debatable).

Also 100+??? wow that is hot.. the temp here hasn't gone above the late 70s and we think that's hot (I HAD TO GOOGLE THIS :P) but I am glad it's cooled down some!

Also YAY! I am glad you like Windows 8.1 though! :D I'll have to upgrade soon *sigh*

Have a great week, Ali!! :)

  10. Oh wow! 100+ degrees? That's so hot! I hope you're coping with the heat! It seems as if it's unnaturally hot everywhere - LOL! Guess we're just going to have to blame that on global warming! ;) And I'm so glad to hear you like your new laptop! :D

I'm really interested in reading your review of Feral next week because it sounds like a wonderful, creeptastic read! xD

Thanks for sharing, and, as always, BRILLIANT review! <3

  12. I was so tempted to get Phobic but I want to clear out my old YA titles before I get new ones. I hope I won't regret passing it up

  13. I'm going to have to jump on the bandwagon here and say Phobic looks creepy! I hope the story is as scary as it looks to be. I hope you enjoy it! Anyway, we just installed Windows 8.1 on our computers here at home and I'm still exploring it. So far I'm liking the new features :)

  18. I am crazy for Kristan Higgins and can't wait to get my hands on her upcoming novel--I know it's going to be amazing!--but I'm also excited to see what you think of the next Shadows of Asphodel novel. I haven't read the first one, but I'm very curious about the series and want to know it's heading in the right direction before diving in. Wonderful haul and happy reading! :)
