Blog Tour Review: He Started It by Samantha Downing

Title: He Started It
Author: Samantha Downing
Series: Stand Alone
Genre: Mystery/Thriller
Published By: Berkley (April 20, 2020)

Book Description:
Beth, Portia, and Eddie Morgan haven't all been together in years. And for very good reasons—we'll get to those later. But when their wealthy grandfather dies and leaves a cryptic final message in his wake, the siblings and their respective partners must come together for a cross-country road trip to fulfill his final wish and—more importantly—secure their inheritance.

But time with your family can be tough. It is for everyone.

It's even harder when you're all keeping secrets and trying to forget a memory—a missing person, an act of revenge, the man in the black truck who won't stop following your car—and especially when at least one of you is a killer and there's a body in the trunk. Just to name a few reasons.

But money is a powerful motivator. It is for everyone.

About the Author:

Samantha Downing is the author of the Edgar Award-nominated novel My Lovely Wife. Amazon Studios and Nicole Kidman's Blossom Films have partnered to produce a feature film based on the novel.

Her next book is called He Started It and will be released in April 2020. She currently lives in New Orleans, where she is furiously typing away on her next thrilling novel.

I'm starting to think after reading two books of hers, Samantha Downing is a mastermind of evil genius. Her twisted, dark, thrillers are everything a person could ask for. Full of twists and turns no one sees coming with heroines and heroes that are anything but what their names proclaim.

With a darker look at the human mind, her stories are fascinating, enthralling, thrilling, and oh so addicting. I can't get enough of them, what that says about him, I'm not ready to contemplate now but I will say, you need to try them. If you like stories that will mess with your head, be hard to put down, and have you thinking about them long after you have set them down, contemplating all the what ifs and leave you reeling thinking about it all over again, this is the author for you.

Another outstanding read about the messed up mind and family dynamics that can follow,  that kept me rapidly turning the pages and entertained the whole way through.

Review: 10 Things I Hate About Pinky by Sandhya Menon

Title: 10 Things I Hate About Pinky
Author: Sandhya Menon
Series: Book Three in the Dimple and Rishi Series
Genre: YA Contemporary
Published By: Simon Pulse (July 21, 2020)
Source: ARC Provided by the Publisher (in exchange for an honest review)
My Rating: 4 Stars!

Book Description:
The follow-up to When Dimple Met Rishi and There’s Something about Sweetie follows Pinky and Samir as they pretend to date—with disastrous and hilarious results.

Pinky Kumar wears the social justice warrior badge with pride. From raccoon hospitals to persecuted rock stars, no cause is too esoteric for her to champion. But a teeny-tiny part of her also really enjoys making her conservative, buttoned-up corporate lawyer parents cringe.

Samir Jha might have a few . . . quirks remaining from the time he had to take care of his sick mother, like the endless lists he makes in his planner and the way he schedules every minute of every day, but those are good things. They make life predictable and steady.

Pinky loves lazy summers at her parents’ Cape Cod lake house, but after listening to them harangue her about the poor decisions (aka boyfriends) she’s made, she hatches a plan. Get her sorta-friend-sorta-enemy, Samir—who is a total Harvard-bound Mama’s boy—to pose as her perfect boyfriend for the summer. As they bicker their way through lighthouses and butterfly habitats, sparks fly, and they both realize this will be a summer they'll never forget.

Top Five Reasons to Read and Love 10 Things I Hate About Pinky

1. Lovable characters that are far from perfect and so darn relatable.
2. Swoon worthy romances that are always deliciously slow building.
3. Diverse group of characters that will steal your heart.
4. Great escape read that will leave you with a smile on your face and a warmth in your heart.
5. Outstanding writing that is every bit as memorizing as it is fun and entertaining.
