Book Description:
Braden Mack thinks reading romance novels makes him an expert in love, but he’ll soon discover that real life is better than fiction.
Liv Papandreas has a dream job as a sous chef at Nashville’s hottest restaurant. Too bad the celebrity chef owner is less than charming behind kitchen doors. After she catches him harassing a young hostess, she confronts him and gets fired. Liv vows revenge, but she’ll need assistance to take on the powerful chef.
Unfortunately, that means turning to Braden Mack. When Liv’s blackballed from the restaurant scene, the charismatic nightclub entrepreneur offers to help expose her ex-boss, but she is suspicious of his motives. He’ll need to call in reinforcements: the Bromance Book Club.
Inspired by the romantic suspense novel they’re reading, the book club assists Liv in setting up a sting operation to take down the chef. But they’re just as eager to help Mack figure out the way to Liv’s heart... even though she’s determined to squelch the sparks between them before she gets burned.
After reading the first book I absolutely knew I was going to love Mack and Liv's story, what I wasn't prepared for was how much more than the first book, I was going to love it.
If you want more humor, more romance, more cheesy yet irresistible one liners and more of the Russian and all his lactose intolerance, this is the story for you.
It will be a toss up between how much more you will laugh, swoon, and how quickly you can turn the pages to get more. So many emotions will run through you while reading this you will feel as if you are on a roller coaster and right there with them through it all. Simply said, it was just more.
It is hard not to love all the men in these stories. They are so sincere and they truly have hearts of gold. And even though they make mistakes, they steal the show with their bromance and be willing to do whatever it takes to get the one that they love, that it makes up for everything else.
The women on the other hand? They are cranky and downright mean and awful at times and, I'm not going to lie, sometimes I found it hard to even like them and their choices but all in all, the author still somehow manages to make you feel for them and they do redeem themselves in the end.

I love it when a story can make you feel so many different emotions. Great review.

Wasn't this fun and relevant? The Russian killed me.
ReplyDeleteYes! Please no more dairy for that man! LOL! I was kind of hoping we would get a book from him next. Hopefully instead he has a bigger role again in it.
DeleteI cackled, when you mentioned the women in these stories. They really were sort of prickly, but my affection for Liv grew via this book. I really didn't like her in the first book, but getting to know and understand her, and to see her softer side had me understanding what Mack saw in her.
ReplyDeleteI felt that way with both of them (Liz and her sister) by the end!
DeleteLoved the 1st book even though Liv annoyed the heck out of me in the first book. By the end I was able to see some of the reasons she behaved badly so there is that. I'm looking forward to this installment and hope I can pick it up soon. Glad to hear you loved it! :)
ReplyDeleteYeah she was a tough character to love in the beginning.
DeleteThe plot sounds good and I like the cover

DeleteAli, I felt the same way way as you. As much as I enjoyed the first book in this series, I loved this one so much more! It has me even more excited to continue this series. I agree that the man in this series are so easy to love, but the woman drive me a little crazy, with their prickliness. Fantastic Review as always!!!

ReplyDeleteI hope you love it and it makes your weekend better!
DeleteI was on the fence about reading this series because of the mixed reactions to the first book (I strongly suspected I'd hate book no.1's wife...) however I love the sound of this one so I my have to get over myself and give the series a try! :)
ReplyDeleteNot going to lie, the women can be shrews but the men make it so worth it to read!
