WoW Pick of the Week!

Waiting on Wednesday is a weekly meme hosted by Jill at Breaking the Spine. It is a chance to share those new releases were are super anxious to get our hands on and read.

I'm a huge Maas fan and in particular of the Throne of Glass series so I'm excited to see where the next book will go. There have been a lot of changes, a lot of ups and downs in the last couple of books and honestly, I feel like at this point, this series could be going anywhere. It will be interesting to see where it does go.

I absolutely love the cover though, it is gorgeous! Let's just hope Maas wows us again in this one and doesn't break our hearts.

Book Description:

The long path to the throne has only just begun for Aelin Galathynius. Loyalties have been broken and bought, friends have been lost and gained, and those who possess magic find themselves at odds with those don't.

As the kingdoms of Erilea fracture around her, enemies must become allies if Aelin is to keep those she loves from falling to the dark forces poised to claim her world. With war looming on all horizons, the only chance for salvation lies in a desperate quest that may mark the end of everything Aelin holds dear.

Aelin's journey from assassin to queen has entranced millions across the globe, and this fifth installment will leave fans breathless. Will Aelin succeed in keeping her world from splintering, or will it all come crashing down?

  1. I'm not a fan of this series, sadly. I lost interest with Heir of Fire, but I hope this goes well for you, Ali. Happy Wednesday!

    1. I know and I don't blame you, the constant switching of love interests is hard and my least favorite part of it.

  5. I had to give up on this series, which was one of my favorites with the first 3 books + the novellas. After the reviews of QoS poured in, I saw which way the wind was blowing and abandoned ship. I'm not into all the "let's make this man a villain so readers will hate him and ship the new romance". SJM has gotten out of hand with this series for me. It's not even about politics anymore, it's all about the romance.

    1. Yeah I don't love the constant switching it has been known for and I have yet to read QoS's because of it but I know I will. My daughter read it and still loved it so I'm hoping there is hope for the series yet.

  11. I lost track of this series when I gave up halfway through the second book so the blurb is kind of lost on me. I should maybe give it another chance?

    1. It depends on why you quit I guess. I love it but it has been pretty emotional and very long so...I don't know. If you did like it then I would say yes definitely!

  14. Sadly I'm with Nick, not all that interested in finishing this series, or reading any of Maas's books in the future. :/ I really like this particular cover though. I hope this book when you get a chance to read it!

    Have a fabulous week. :)

  15. I hope this lives up to your expectations! I enjoyed Throne of Glass but haven't really kept up with SJM since.

I’m waiting for “The Sun is Also a Star” by Nicola Yoon :)

  17. I've never read anything by this author before. Fantasy isn't really my thing. But I do hope you enjoy reading this, Ali.
Thanks for stopping by My WoW earlier.

  18. I haven't read anything by Maas. I'm not that into fantasy, but there are some that do surprise me here and there!

  19. I only read the prequel novellas and Throne of Glass, but I do like the characters. I know she's notorious with playing with the romance, but I do like that we have no idea where the story will go. It keeps us readers on our toes!

  27. Great pick! I agree the book series could be going anywhere now. I still need to read the 4th one, but I'm nervous because of spoilers I heard. I need to just read it already and I hope this one will be good too. The cover is fabulous!
