Book Description:
Casey isn't human. The revelation should terrify her, but it doesn't. Instead it excites her. Too bad not everyone is as excited as she is.
Torn between two lives, the only one she's ever known and her life as a paranormal princess, Casey has to decide whether she can trust the man she loves.
Sometimes being a princess isn't all it's cracked up to be.
It is no secret that I love Ivy's work, she is just an amazing author that's writing never ceases to whisk me away to another world where there is so much possibilities and where anything can happen. Her writing is captivating and flows so nicely that from the moment you pick up one of her books until you set it down, it seems like no time at all has passed and yet, so much has happened.
I was dying to get my hands on this book, with the way that Soar ended there was just no way I wasn't eager to start this and find out what happened next.
I would be lying though if I didn't go into this with a little trepidation. Some things were revealed at the end of book one that changed everything and I still wasn't sure how I felt about it all.
What would it mean for Casey? Jared, Toby, Levi and Allie? Their whole world was about to change and I wasn't sure it would be for the better.
This was...well, it was a fabulous addition to the series. It reminded me all over again why I trust Ms. Ivy with this series and her characters. She never ceases to amaze me with the new twists and turns she can take the storyline to.
Just when I think I might have something or someone figured out, she hits me with something new that completely blows me away and makes me question things all over again.
Just when I think I finally have a handle on who I love most, again she comes from left field and sends another curve ball my way. She is a master at suspense, at keeping me on the edge of my seat dying for more.
I am so excited about book three and I simply can't wait for it.

Glad to hear this series is still going strong and keeping up the suspense. Every time I read one of your reviews of her books I tell myself I'm going to give her writing a try, and I feel bad because I still haven't done it. :D SOON! Wonderful review!
ReplyDeleteYes, soon! ;)
DeleteI totally agree that Ivy is an amazing author. I have read her other series and it was really good but this one seem to be more my genre. I'm so glad you enjoyed it. Great review, Ali :)
ReplyDeleteSo glad you have tried her other work and really like this one as well. If you like this series you are going to love all the twists in this one. ;)
DeleteSounds interesting, I'll have to add the first book in the series to my tbr list :)
ReplyDeleteSecond books always make me so nervous Ali! I worry that relationships established in book one will deteriorate and bad things will happen to all the characters before everything is slowly built back up and sewn back together in book three. Glad this was a great second installment for you though, I definitely need to check these books out!
ReplyDeleteI know, they always make me feel the same way.
DeleteThe book sounds awesome. I gotta get me one of those. :-)

I do remember hearing good things about this author but I haven't read any of her books yet.
ReplyDeleteYou need to fix that Candace!
DeleteSo glad when you can find an author you love that consistently impressed you.
ReplyDeleteIt really is! Thanks for stopping by! ;)
DeleteThis one kind of snuck up on me as well.
ReplyDeleteThat cover is... interesting. LOL Got to love an author that keeps you guessing. This sounds like a great read; thanks for the recommendation!
ReplyDeleteLOL, I know what you mean but this isn't a naughty book even though the cover suggests otherwise. ;)
DeleteDang, now another series to add :). hehe! I haven't even heard of this one. Thanks for introducing me!!!
ReplyDeleteIvy is an author that I have been meaning to try for years. I even have a couple of her books. I'll get to them eventually, just watch! :D
ReplyDeleteYou better! ;)
DeleteOh I didn't know this book or the author but it sounds nice. It's nice to see taht you had once again a really good time with it.
ReplyDeleteI usually really enjoy books by Alyssa Rose Ivy, so I want to read this series. I love books that have a bunch of twists and turns, too :) This sounds pretty great. Awesome review!
ReplyDeleteYay! I hope you do start it, start with the original one first (this is a spin off). ;)
Deletewow it sounds like this author really knows how to capture the readers attention!
ReplyDeleteShe really does!
DeleteI love when an author is able to bring the reader into her ideas for the tale and add twists and turns that delight. Fantastic review Ali!
ReplyDeleteThank you!!
DeleteSo I'm fairly hesitant to pick up NA because of content. The cover kind of worries me alone in that regard. How's the content in this series? It does sound like something I'd enjoy.

The cover is way worse than it really is. There are some steamy scenes though but nothing r or x rated. ;)
DeleteI love Ivy and the pterons but the last book really pissed me off. I began to hate Jared and I really wanted her to get with Toby. It felt like an unnecessary love triangle when she was dating Toby for most of the book then all of a sudden fell into bed with Jared. I am curious about what the big reveal will mean though. Also want to see more Levi and Allie.
ReplyDeleteI actually wasn't happy with the fact that Levi's dad would do something like that more than anything else. Is that weird?
Deleteis the empire chronicles after the crescent chronicles?
ReplyDeleteGreat review! I see that I have some catching up to do :)
