Kelly Grace Pickens is excited to get married-until she's abandoned at the altar with her bouquet and the exorbitant bill for an A-list wedding. Homeless and with aonce-promising singing career now floundering, her life bears an uncanny resemblance to the bad luck she sings about in her country music ballads.
Feeling desperate and alone, she reluctantly accepts an offer to appear on a reality TV show similar to The Bachelor, called Count Down to Love. Her down-to-earth country ways are a stark contrast to the supermodels she's competing against and especially to the mysterious bachelor from New York, Dillon Black. Wading through hurt and betrayal both on and off screen, Kelly discovers that being true to yourself is the first step in finding happiness and love.
This is the first book that I have read by Ms. Ford and I can guarantee that it won't be my last.
Count Down to Love is such a sweet story. I was completely wrapped up in Kelly's life, her accomplishments, her heartache, her sorrows, her joys, her love, her choices, her strength. She was such a great character. I love how she grew throughout the story and became strong and independent and how she learned to take risks and chances and most importantly how she learned to believe in herself and to find out who she was and wanted to be.
I love how sweet the romance was between her and Dillion and how their choices lead them to where they were and who they ultimately ended up with.
I think anyone who loves a sweet romance will absolutely love this story.
