Indie Book of the Week; White Lilac by Christina J. Adams!

 This weeks Indie Book of the Week pick is, White Lilac by Christina J. Adams!

Synopsis:

My Thoughts and Review:

 

With so many YA dystopians out there right now, it can be a little daunting finding one that is original and not the same ole same ole. Now, don't get me wrong, I love dystopians, something I never thought I would hear myself saying but I really have come to love them over time. There are some pretty fabulous ones out there right now but it is always nice when you find one that is so unusual and so unique that it makes you pause and give the book a second look.

That is what I found in White Lilac, a totally unique, totally new spin in the YA Dystopain genre with a light sci fi feel to it.

I really do admire authors who can come up with something so fun and new because lets face it, it must be hard. I don't think I could ever be a writer, I am just not that creative and original.

Like most dystopians, this book starts off with lots of action, something that draws you right into the story and makes you want to keep reading. A totally unique world where the population was almost wiped out for none other than a fish. Yep you heard that right, a fish. Genetically altered humans are made to help come up with an antidote to save the world.

Did that pique your interest? Because it should. I wasn't kidding when I said that this storyline and the characters are completely new and fresh.

This really was an intriguing read. It has just enough action and romance and something strange and unusual (in a good way) to keep me interested and wanting more.

Caryn and Kai are the main characters of the story and their stories and lives couldn't be more different yet they are both thrown together and go through a lot as the story progresses. They both really changed and grew and I love it when that happens.

Their were some conspiracies throughout this story and twists and turns that I didn't see coming and I really love it when that happens.

Overall this was such a well written read that I think anyone who loves dystopians would really enjoy.

It is obvious the author is very talented and I think we can expect some really great and fun things from her in the future.

I give this one a very solid 4 Stars!!
