Blog Tour and Book Review: Kat Fight by Dina Silver

Title: Kat Fight
Author: Dina Silver
Published: June 1, 2012
Genre: Contemporary Romance

Book Description:
The seriously funny, fabulously flawed Kat Porter has arrived, and she may just steal your heart—not to mention your boyfriend. Readers everywhere will revel in this sharp-witted, well-meaning whirlwind in author Dina Silver’s hilarious new novel, Kat Fight. In her quest for love, Kat makes every wrong turn, juggling two men, one best friend, and her own deeply confused heart’s desires. Kat Porter is a consummate romantic, eager for her chance to find love and commitment. But after her boyfriend of four years, Marc, begins to grow apathetic and sends her calls straight to voicemail one too many times, Kat finally musters the courage to confront her so-called sweetheart, who seems more interested in dodging her than courting her. Though she’s no fan of ultimatums, Kat is at the end of her considerable wits, and lobs a massive one his way, completely confident that he'll make the right decision when faced with losing her. He doesn't. With radio silence from Marc, Kat’s lifelong dream of finding a husband and forging a family is decidedly on the skids. That’s when her childhood friend Julie steps in, forcing Kat on a blind date to help her move beyond the break-up. Not only does Kat botch the setup, she instead finds herself in hot pursuit of Julie’s love interest, Ryan Sullivan. A man who, in addition to literally taking her breath away, is the living, breathing personification of everything Kat wants in a husband. Can Kat connect with the man of her dreams without hurting two of the people she cares most about? At the same time, she must also contend with the quips of her beloved catty coworker Adam, her bi-polar boss Brooke, and a string of comic, unpredictable plot twists. All the while, Kat’s cheeky perspective and generous heart will leave readers adoring every moment of her journey while chuckling and cheering for the ever cute, razor-sharp Kat as she fights to land the love of a lifetime.

My Thoughts and Review:

This was such a great fun read that I just know (sadly) this review is just not going to do it justice.

This book had me hooked after the first few pages. The writing is fabulous and the characters are even better. This is filled with crazy antics, missteps, quirks, comedy and of course, romance.

Kat is everything I love in a contemporary romance character. She is smart, witty, strong, a little clumsy and completely real. She makes mistakes, deals with them and has some pretty amazing friends to back her up along the way. I adored her character. I just loved her sense of humor. I can't tell you how many times I laughed throughout this book because honestly, I lost track after the first couple of chapters.

This book is full of wonderful characters but my favorite by far has to be Adam. He was so funny and someone I would love to have as a friend. I think I laughed out loud at his antics and witty one liners as much as I did at Kat's (which earned me many funny looks from friends, strangers and family members along the way).

Ryan was a complete sweetie and I loved him from the get go. Heck, I even liked Marc and that is saying something because, I wasn't suppose to like him he was the bad guy, (if you could say this book had bad guys). But I couldn't help it, I had to feel for his character too.

I loved Kat's journey of learning to know when to let go, when to hold on tight and everything that happens in between.

I give this one 4 very Solid and well deserved Stars!!

  1. This sounds so cute! Kat definitely sounds like my kind of heroine. I always have a soft spot for a clumsy girl as I often trip over my own feet and hit my shoulder on door frames - like I haven't walked through that same doorway 800 times. It hasn't moved Jenny, so well done ;-) I could use a fun, light book at the moment, thanks for the recommendation!

  2. Thanks for stopping by Jenny! :)

  3. I am all for a cute fun read. I like that you even liked the bad guy. This just sounds like a nice escape, pick me up book!

  4. haha..i always end up liking the bad boy too, usually I spot one redeeming quality and well I cannot help it!

  5. Oh I love how you describe this one! I hadn't heard of it before but I'm going to have to check it out now cause it sounds like something I would love!

  6. I know Kimba!! I am the same way!!

@Candace, I really do hope you give this one a try. I think you would like it. :)

  7. This sounds super cute and full of fun characters. I love when a book can make me laugh! Great review!

  8. Fabulous review! This is the kind of book I would love. I will be getting this one for sure.

  9. This sounds like such a fun read! I love when a book can make me giggle, and it sounds like Kat and Adam will have me cracking up. I definitely want to pick this one up now. Amazing review! :-)

  10. Gosh I have this book on my wishlist, it looks absolutely fantastic. Others wrote praises for it as well, I love a funny chick-lit.

  11. This sounds like a cute contemp! Although falling for her friends crush is not good! Hopefully everyone gets a happy ending. Kat seems fun and glad the love interest were likable. Sometimes even the bad guy is just the wrong guy and not necessarily bad I guess.
