Indie Book of the Week: Ethereal Knights by Addison Moore

This weeks Indie Book of the Week is actually a companion novel to the Celestra Series by Addison Moore, Ethereal Knights. I love the Celestra Series, it is one of those series so filled with drama and angst that for whatever reason just works. You get sucked into the story and before you know it are completely wrapped up in it.
Ethereal Knights is actually a retelling through Logan and Gage's eyes of the first book in the series, Ethereal and I have been told, is just one of many planned.
So, without further ado, I give you Ethereal Knights and the ever hot Oliver boys.

My Thoughts and Review:
This is one of those series that I truly love to hate. It has all the classic drama that usually makes me roll my eyes, a love triangle (okay maybe even more than a triangle at this point), teenage angst, the mean girls and the typical pretty popular girl  that strings the two really great guys along and sometimes seems to toy with them. I know, I know. You are thinking, why in the world do you read this  stuff,  but for whatever reason, this series has sucked me in. Maybe it is the great characters, because  even though they are the  “typical insert whatever here” they are still fantastic.

Or maybe I love the angel storyline, which okay, still doesn't make sense because most angel books  and I just don't get along. I don't know. Maybe it is Moore's ability to tell a story and make the unbelievable believable. Either way, here I was super excited at the thought of reading the first book in the series Ethereal through the point of view of the two hunky Oliver boys. I mean, have you seen Logan and Gage? What's not to love about them?

So, even though I had a million other books to read before this one, I made the time and read this one anyways. I couldn't help it. After all the teasers Moore posted on her blog I was dying to read this and get an inside look into what makes the Oliver boys tick. Plus okay, I wanted more of two of my favorite boys. You know, the ones I love to hate. Wait, actually I don't hate them. It is Skyla that I usually love to hate. Anyhoo, I definitely got that inside look and wow! I have to say, I love them even more now.

I love that Moore listened to her fans and gave them exactly what they wanted when she created this. I can only hope that there will be many more to come because I would love more.

My only disappointment was that I thought I would love Gage more after reading this and honestly, I didn't. In fact, I think maybe I loved Logan more and I really didn't want that because I am team Gage all the way. Dang Moore and her writing!

This really was a great addition to the series and like I mentioned above, one I hope we get more of.

  1. Its kind of cool when that happens, when you read a book that you know you should hate., but don't really. I don't know that I would pick this series because of all those things, but I guess you never know!

  4. I haven't read Addison even though I have heard great things about her work. IDK... love triangles and angels aren't my favorites. I do want to try this author, though.

  5. Oh yeah, I think we have those books you hate to love. I don't know if I'd pick it up already knowing how it is, but might get sucked if I tried it. lol

  6. I've been wanting to start this series truly forever! I bought the first book like 2 years ago. Awesome that the first book is re-written from the guys POV. I love seeing the other side. I have heard the love triangle is a bit of a killer in this one.

  7. Haha, I love it when I hate the formula or the characters but still love the book anyway. It happens all too often. I have to remind myself that I'm allowed to read a book just for pure entertainment and not concern myself with all my usual turn off buzz words like love triangle and mean girls, etc. Glad you had fun with this, and fab review!

  8. This really is just one of those books I read for pure entertainment. There is so much I usually don't like in books in it but yet, I get drawn in each and every time.

  9. This has happened to me before... a book I should have hated that I ended up loving. That said, I honestly think this would not work for me, under any circumstances. I just can't stand drama.
    Great review, though.
