Title: The Summer I Found You
Author: Jolene Perry
Series: Stand Alone
Published By: Albert Whitman Teen (March 1, 2014)

Genre: NA Contemporary Romance
My Rating: 4 Stars!

Book Description:
All they have in common is that they're less than perfect. And all they're looking for is the perfect distraction.

Kate's dream boyfriend has just broken up with her and she's still reeling from her diagnosis of type 1 diabetes. Aidan planned on being a lifer in the army and went to Afghanistan straight out of high school. Now he's a disabled young veteran struggling to embrace his new life. When Kate and Aidan find each other neither one wants to get attached. But could they be right for each other after all?

Jolene Perry never ceases to amaze me with the characters she creates and the stories she writes. I fell in love with her writing long ago and have continued to buy her books whenever they are released.

She didn't let me down in this latest novel. Once again she created endearing characters that you can't help caring about and situations that are realistic and easy to relate to.

I loved that there were two very different people in very different situations in their life and struggles that even with the differences, could relate to one another and find strength with each other. Together they made each other stronger through their friendship.

They didn't judge each other or try to change one another, they simply accepted the other for who and what they were.

This was a sweet and endearing story about finding your way after something life changing happens to you and finding the good in the bad and learning how to love and what that love really means.
