Book Description:
In the game for love, only the winners walk away with their hearts intact…

Trent O’Shea is a superstar athlete on the football field, but for one week each year he escapes into anonymity at an exclusive resort in the Florida Keys that caters to the rich and famous. Armed with a fake identity, he’s happy to sit by the pool and do nothing except enjoy some breathtaking scenery—and maybe ask her if she needs help putting sunscreen on her back.

Laurel Burnett never met a bad boy she couldn’t catch. Cheating spouses. Deadbeat dads. Scammers. Once the determined PI sets her sights on them they all fall, and the next alleged perpetrator in her crosshairs is none other than the San Francisco Outlaws’ Trent O’Shea. The super-sexy linebacker who Laurel’s client hired her to track will be her biggest trophy yet. She’ll do anything to bring him down, even follow him to a resort paradise and use herself as bait.

But things aren’t always as they appear and Trent and Laurel both learn that sometimes even perfectly planned plays can go wrong when love and lust are involved. Then it’s game on!

A contemporary “mistaken identity” romance trope featuring a rich, alpha hero athlete who also happens to be a Texas cowboy, and the private investigator heroine determined to catch him.

This was such a fun quick read. In fact, I would even go so far as to say it was the perfect read for summer. One that you can finish in a single sitting and one that will leave a smile on your face. It made me laugh and smile and even roll my eyes (in a good way!).

The characters were relatable even if the situations weren't exactly believable/relatable (I mean come on, who really meets a gorgeous, famous, rich athlete and falls in love while hunting him down for a client?).

The main characters Trent and Laurel were perfect for each other and the tension between them was just as hot as it could be sweet.

Overall this was a fun read and one I recommend to anyone that wants a quick romance filled read for summer.

Exactly! It's why I love romance novels. It's fun to live a fantasy for a little while:) This sounds like the perfect palate-cleansing type of read, and I fully approve of that cover!

  8. I just spent my afternoon on the beach and I wish I had this with me. Instead, I was reading historical fantasy, and let me tell you, it's not a beach read at all.

  13. I like the sound of this book. The cover is nice too, haha. I do like things to be believable if they are set in the real world, but I have a high tolerance for when they are not--after all, it's a book and sometimes that's just the way things have to be.
