WoW Pick of the Week!

Waiting on Wednesday is a weekly meme hosted by Jill at Breaking the Spine. It is a chance to share those new releases were are super anxious to get our hands on and read.

This isn't my typical pick because I think it might be middle grade or if not, then a young YA, either way, it still looks so good I just want to read it.

I read this author's first book in her False Prince series and really liked it so I'm hoping the writing style will be very similar.

Book Description:

As a lethal plague sweeps through the land, Ani Mells is shocked when she is unexpectedly captured by the governor's wardens and forced to submit to a test for the deadly Scourge. She is even more surprised when the test results come back positive, and she is sent to Attic Island, a former prison turned refuge -- and quarantine colony -- for the ill. The Scourge's victims, Ani now among them, can only expect to live out short, painful lives there. However, Ani quickly discovers that she doesn't know the whole truth about the Scourge or the Colony. She's been caught in a devious plot, and, with the help of her best friend, Weevil, Ani means to uncover just what is actually going on.

But will she and Weevil survive long enough to do so?

  2. Wow Kindlemom this is for middle graders a little more intense than when I was that age. Of course Dinosaurs still walked the earth then LOL

  3. I like the cover for it. Probably a little too young for me but never know. I have enjoyed some of the early young adults I've tried along the way :)

    1. I'm hoping it will read more like a YA, I mean the Percy Jackson series and the H.P. series are technically MG so you never know.

  6. The cover looks MG, but I feel like just as there is YA that reads young, I'm sure there's MG that reads a bit older, so this is definitely something I'd try Ali! Hopefully it's as strong for you as her YA stuff:)
