Blog Tour and Book Review: One More Chance by Abbi Glines

Welcome to my tour stop for the One More Chance tour.

I am a huge Glines fan and her Sea Breeze series is just so much fun not to mention addicting. So of course I had to jump at the chance to read her latest novel, how could I resist Woods and Harlow?

Release Date: September 2, 2014
Publisher: Atria Books
Genre: New Adult Contemporary Romance
Series: Sea Breeze Book 8 and Chance Book 2

Book Description:
Grant Carter did everything in his power to convince Harlow Manning that he was a good guy. More than a smooth-talker and someone she could trust. He had to overcome his reputation as a playboy, and his history with Harlow's half-sister, Nan, a woman with a reputation of her own.

Harlow had taken the chance, falling hard and fast for the guy who thrilled her with his all-consuming desire. After a lifetime of avoiding bad boys like Grant, she had opened herself to the possibilities of love...

But a life-changing secret has torn them apart, and now Grant and Harlow must decide if they have enough fight to make it work - or if the pain of betrayal has permanently destroyed their future.

About the Author:

Since publishing her first novel Breathe in May of 2011, Abbi has also released The New York Times bestselling Seabreeze Series which includes Breathe, Because of Low, While It Lasts, Just For Now and Sometimes It Last, The Existence Trilogy that includes the USA Today Bestseller Ceaseless. New York Times and USA TODAY bestsellers The Vincent Boys and The Vincent Brothers. Last but not least her most popular series to date, Rosemary Beach which includes The New York Times and Wall Street Journal bestsellers Fallen Too Far, Never Too Far, Forever Too Far, Twisted Perfection and Simple Perfection. Her newest book scheduled to be released on December 17th, 2013 is Misbehaving (Seabreeze).

When Abbi isn’t locked away in her office typing away she is hauling her kids to and from their many social activities. You could say her second job is the Glines Kids personal chauffeur. It’s a rather illustrious job.

I love Abbi's books. If you are looking for a book and an author that can be your go to books for a heart felt story with damaged characters and a beautiful ending you can count on, then Abbi's books are the ones you need to go to.

Her books are always emotional, her men although crass, can always be counted on to be swoon worthy and the woman, always sweet and someone you wished you knew and someone you want to be friends with.

I was a little nervous starting this right after finishing the last book. I didn't want Grant to end up with Nan, I still can't stand her and let's face it, Grant makes some pretty big mistakes but he is still a great caring guy, someone Nan doesn't deserve.

With the bombshell that was the ending of Take a Chance, if I wasn't nervous it would have been a outrageous.

I shouldn't have worried though Abbi came though beautifully with yet another great read that had my emotions all over the place in a very real, very good way.

She not only carried it all out realistically to the storyline but in a way I was very satisfied with in the end.

Once again she has managed to impress me with her writing abilities and leave me wanting more of the story and yet oddly satisfied with it being over and done with as well.

  1. I was just offered this book on audio so your review came at the right time to help me decide! It's good when the characters can be redeemed in your eyes, it doesn't happen often that we change our minds completely, and it takes great skill to actually do it. So Glines gets major brownie points for that. :)
I'm glad you enjoyed this, Ali!

  2. I'm glad you had such a great time with the book. I don't think I know about this one or the author but it's nice to see Abbi managed to do things beautifully.

  3. I've got one of hers but haven't tried her yet. I do like my heroes a little rough and crass now and again so that sounds pretty perfect for me. lol

  4. It's always a good sign when a book leaves you wanting more! If I'm desperate for there to be a sequel, then I know I've hit the jackpot

  5. I haven't read anything by Abbi Glines yet Ali. FAIL!!!! This sentence has me sold on her books though:

"Her books are always emotional, her men although crass, can always be counted on to be swoon worthy and the woman, always sweet and someone you wished you knew and someone you want to be friends with."

YES TO ALL OF THIS. Can't wait to give her a try:)

  6. It can sometimes be hard to read books in a series back-to-back, so I'm happy that it worked out for you in this instance. Thank you for introducing me to Abbi Glines' writing, she sounds very talented!

  9. I kind of suck. I've only read one of her books but I really didn't like it. I should definitely give her another chance and try something else of hers though.

  10. I'd like to read this, but the fact that the series is up to book 8 is very intimidating. I'm not a fan of series in general. I'd love to give Abbi's books a try at some point. I really think her characters and I would get along great. :)

    1. The series as a whole is up to book 8 but really you don't need to read them all to get eh gist of it. Each book usually has two that go together and then the characters are present in all of them.

  11. I've tried two of Glines's books and haven't been a fan so perhaps I need to give this one a try instead! I'm glad you enjoyed it as much as you did and thanks for sharing! :)

  13. Man, this series is pretty long. O.o Is it the final book? Naah, probably not though I like the fact that the characters change from one book to another. I have yet to read it but, if I start with a series by this author, I'll surely pick Sea Breeze. :)

    1. You can start not in the beginning because they can act as stand alones but starting at the beginning is always a good idea. ;)

  14. BOOK 8?!?! WOW. That's pretty long for a romance book. Then again, Outlander was 7 books, and each was pretty humongous :P In any case, seeing you find something that gives you the feels is a good sign imo! Great review >:D<

  15. Great review. I'm glad you enjoyed this one. This is a long series then, if this is book 8. I have some Abbi Glines books, her Vincent brothers books ad the Too Far ones, but I haven't read any yet. I should probably give them a go soon., they've been sitting on my bookshelves for ages.

  16. I love abbi's books too, and I really want to pick up this one but I am behind on both of these series. I think I am on seabreeze #5 and I haven't read either of the chance books. I really need to catch up with her books!

    Great review!

  17. I haven't read any of her books. It's totally my fault, from the reviews I've read I've assessed that it's the kind of romances that I might not like. however, I might be wrong, one of these days I know she'll write something that I won't be able to resist not checking out. Let's hope that time comes sooner than later.

  21. Great review. I can't wait to read this. I read the first one, but I've not read the other books in this series, so I don't think I got the full impact. I am going to start from the beginning soon and go through them all starting with Rush and Blair's story.

    1. That is a great place to start because they do both play a small role in these as well and their story was one of my favs. ;)
